| I'm thinking I'm too old for those cut-off jeans shorts that seem to be so in these days. Are they ever appropriate for the over 40 crowd? I have nice legs, so they won't look bad, but I fear looking like I'm trying to hard to look young. Thoughts? |
|
I don't think that jean shorts are appropriate or stylish for ANYONE who is not a 1-4 year old boy or a very skinny and fit high school girl.
This is not the 90s anymore. |
|
Probably depends on the rest of the outfit a little...like don't pair it with a tube top.
Otherwise, if you're over 40 and have nice legs, I say rock on with your jean shorts... |
| I wear a pair around the house and our yard and cul de sac, never wear them outside of those boundaries. I'm 41. |
| Jorts! Gah! |
| Hell no! I am a very in-shape, muscular-toned 44-year old...NO WAY!! Hell--they aren't even for a fit 30-something. yuck, yuck, yuck! |
| Terrible for anyone except perhaps a very willowy 17 year old. I don't even dress my preschooler in them. So gross. |
| SO what kind of shorts should we be wearing?? |
| Never ok. |
Yes to these, but only if you're thin and have the legs for them:
Always no to these: |
| I think it depends on the length and rinse. |
| Pictures PP has it pretty spot on. Some are ok of course. When it doubt, then the answer is probably NO! |
+1 OP--what type of jean shorts were you referring to? most people do not look good in jean short, particularly "daisy dukes" unless they have very thin legs. on the other hand, i have seen tons of younger, thinner, athletic women jogging in exercise clothes and even some of them have cellulite. |
| NAY, unless you are a toddler. |
| Yes, as long as you style them properly. |
