Jeans Shorts for the over 40 crowd, yay or nay?

Anonymous
Jorts are Mom Jeans for summer. Avoid.

And, jorts are simply Mom jeans cut shorter.

Levi's is still cranking these out, for men.

Possibly, a very dark wash denim in a bermuda length and tailored would be alright, but only if paired with a nice heeled shoe, like espadrilles or ballet flats and a stylish top.

This is not the 90s anymore.

They are in all the stores and catalogs this season.

Some are, but not all. First pic on the previous page definitely isn't a mom jean.

To pp who posted pics: please tell who makes the first pair.

It doesn't matter who makes them if you don't have the 16 year old body and looks to wear them.

Yes, in the juniors section.

There is a very real reason for that.

Disagree- you just need long, decently toned legs. You wouldn't blink twice at me in those with a white button down and flat sandals walking with my kiddo, for the good or bad. I'm 33

I'm 44 and wore an outfit almost identical to this (shorts slightly longer) last weekend.

They're AG (Adriano Goldschmied) available here:

I also like these at Gap for considerably less:

Ladies, unless you look like the model above, jean shorts are just going to look like the summer version of mom jeans on you, no matter how you style them.

Those shorts make that very skinny size zero model appear to have big thighs.

Imagine what they will look like on the average size 10-16 40 year old woman...

Did I miss the part where someone was actually advocating high-waisted jean shorts with pantyhose and rick-rack?

If you like them, wear them. For crying out loud, DC is the queen of dowdy.
