New Additions to Leagues Check Up (ECNL & GA)

they are in 3rd place - one game behind Eclipse and Hawks ... Hawks was a semifinalist in playoffs last year and Eclipse is currently in 3rd for Champions league Qualifier in 2025 behind Solar and FC Stars

You act like that they are behind really shitty teams and that they are not doing well.

The best GA team in DMV is probably 2009 VRSC.

The worst ECNL team is probably Bethesda 2009s.

The two teams played at VDA Showcase and Bethesda won 2-0.

Can we move on now?

BOOOOOOOOM!

The best 2012 GA Team is SYC and the best 2012 ECNL Team is ASA and SYC won in WAGS 3 to 1

GA is winning in the younger years and ECNL is not. BOOM. This will carry on in future years due to the shift. Can we move on now

So you really want to get pedantic - the best 2012 team is The Football Academy and guess what they did - moved to Matchfit ECNL as a team (I hate it, but it is what is).

The Football Academy only ranks 14 in Soccer Rankings and just lost to Solar SC. When they can beat Solar, SD Surf, Slammers, or So Cal Blues then come back and tell me they are the best 2012 team.

Yes, I'm aware, although they do have SuperCopa wins over similar teams. I was referring to our general region. Guess where they went when they didn't get a badge - ECNL!

The point with the Nationals is that all I keep seeing from this forum is that the top teams from the GA are right there with the top ECNL. If this were true wouldn't they have won the Midwest and compete for an ECNL national championship??? They are currently outside of the top 24 ranking to Champions League, a team that won a GA National Championship last year. you tell me what that says?? GA is not even close to the ECNL.

The top 10 in GA are slotted in the 11-30 range of the top ECNL teams.

I disagree ... they took 3rd in the Midwest behind two of the best ECNL teams at that age and are a game behind. Hawks were semifinalists last year and Eclipse is currently 3rd in Champions league ranking - and Nationals lost to Eclispe 1-0 and Hawks 2-1. I understand the argument you are trying to make, but its not as damning as you think.

Eclipse - 3rd in champions cup standings- lost to SLSG Navy 3-0. Nationals beat Navy 2-1.

My question -- which remains unanswered here -- was how did their roster or coaching change after going to ECNL? Is the GA natty team the same players, still?

Also - it was Nationals first year in ECNL, so they can't compete for a NC title until summer. They qualified as needed for that chance ... if they fall flat on their face then comeback after them.

My bet is that your kid isn't on Nationals or any of the ECNL clubs you view as highly ranked.

You also don't understand that visability for recruiting isn't all about being on a top team. But at the same time if you're not on a highly ranked team (in a league) it's hard to get noticed.

While it is yet another ECNL to GA it isn't exactly a huge deal. Even though the Texas conference is far better than the North Atlantic Tulsa is still the PDA South of that conference.
