What a specious argument.

No one needs to convince you of anything, you have made up your mind. You hate us, but only the ones who own guns legally, we get it.

But you can't and won't do anything about it. So just stay in your attic and do your crossword puzzles.

Damn right I hate you.

And you’re wrong about not doing anything about. Because one day soon the laws are going to force you to trudge down to your local police station and surrender all your little murder-toy-phallic-symbols. You’ll stand in line with the rest of the underendowed men, hand them over, fill out some forms, get fingerprinted and photographed, and then watch as your guns get tossed in a dumpster to get melted down. And if you don’t we’ll see to it that they get “pulled from your cold dead hands” like it says on your bumpersticker.

Personally, I hope a lot of you choose the second option.

DP. I worry about the direction liberals are headed these days. Many of them seem so hateful - to the extent that they almost seem proud of their hate. And also many seem so certain that people who don’t agree with them are evil.

Progressives and Dems aren’t the ones committing daily mass shootings. I’m indeed proud of hating gun nutters.

+1 all those inner city gangbanger nutters who obtain and use illegal firearms should be locked up! Remove them from society.

Stay on topic please. We’re not discussing that.

DP. The topic is gun violence in DC. You’re more likely to get shot by a crew member than a Republican in this city. It’s not even close.

The Republicans don’t hold the guns in DC.
But they put the guns in people’s hands.

Scalia and Wayne LaPierre might have well have dipped their hands in blood while passing out guns in DC — or across the river in Virginia.

In fact, the Federalist society justices and the NRA leadership passed out a lot more guns with their jobs than if they had handed them out personally.

None of this is true and you know it. Leftist “poor victim of society” crime policy and refusal to lock up violent recidivist is the problem.

Most of the gun violence and crimes with guns in DC are committed by people who vote Republican?

Im sure the majority is committed by individuals who have never registered to vote.

So so sad -- I looked up the article. We live in the neighborhood. This intersection has been a flashpoint for a long time, right near the Kennedy Playground and the Giant. RIP.

She has lost her soul mate, provider, father of her four young children and the person who helped her cope with another tragedy. In 2010, her boyfriend at the time beat to death her 20-month-old son, Dominic Kingsbury Jr.; he is in prison until 2028.

How do you only go to prison for 18 years for beating a 1 year old to death? That’s life without parole, no question. Imagine how lenient prosecutors are with violent felons who kill a member of a rival crew if you can get only 18 years for murdering an infant.

I'm so sorry // Maybe there should be a police cruiser parked there? This has to stop--he sounds like a lovely person ((((((

Post said 1 in 7 left DC last year. #1 reason to move? Less crime. Maybe that's a message to the Council if nothing else?

So, how are we doing with the police walking beats and getting to know the community?

Anyone in the 14th street area have a cop initiate a chat with them lately?

Or are we just going back to invading force body armor beat-people-up policing?

What are the cops doing differently to handle this now?

Based on one recent case, they’re releasing without charges a man who had an illegal gun and who resisted arrest and assaulted those officers, making no effort to apprehend others who assaulted the officers with a chair, a bottle and a trash can, and talking about firing the officers and prosecuting them for using minimal force to effect the arrest of the violent, dangerous, armed, resisting man with the illegal gun.

So, worse than nothing.
