Really sad-so many kids have gained weight during covid

That's a comment, I never said anything like that.

I meant what a gross comment. I never would or did say such a thing.

DP - but I guess in your mind not explicitly saying the exact words mean you didn’t imply the same thing with your dismissive and sarcastic comment about their lives being cancelled?

What is grosser, the person who lays it out in brutal terms or the person telling the suffering kids to walk it off?

But, they still play outside and attend practices twice a week with clinics 4 days a week. Pandemic or not, nothing has stopped you and your children from going outside to play and be active except for... you the parent. Mine are DL and will remain DL. That's not an excuse to allow your child to get fat. It's just lazy parenting.

Okay, princess. Here’s your parenting Gold Star. Now kindly STFU.

You should do the same and go tend to your fat a** kids.

Ouch! So insulting! I guess we have to take back that gold star. You’re an imperfect parent, shame!

Your kid didn't get fat missing one Recess/day and PE once a week.

Yeah, much better the kids whose lives were not cancelled because all they do is play video games and watch YouTube, and they hated learning stuff anyway. That describes the kids I know who are loving Covid life.

It's crazy how much internalized self hatred seeps out into children.

What about the daily 2,000 steps to school and back then hanging out with his dude bro friends after school on their scooters or whatever kids do these days?

We canceled kids’ lives AND we didn’t protect the elderly. My sister is a nurse at a nursing home. During a Covid outbreak over 30 residents were infected. Nurses who were showing symptoms and requested a Covid test were told that they would have to work now and be tested later. It is sick.

And the sanctimonious, oblivious urbanites who pat themselves on the back for saving lives while they are served by people who are less fortunate...I can’t even.

Nobody "canceled kids' lives." You're absurd. If your kids' lives were "cancelled" , it's your own damn fault and no one else's. Yay parenting.

In person school cancelled
In person tutoring cancelled
In person enrichment classes cancelled
Music lessons cancelled
Sports cancelled
Parties cancelled
Vacations cancelled

DON'T SAY KIDS LIVES WERE CANCELLED

Ok buddy

You're dumb. Put my kid's in an IP private school first now, hired a tutor to do enrichment for eldest, put both kid's in sports all year in another open county, and did private club sports for the eldest. We did not do a bday party but bought them huge gifts ( Oculus and a power wheels duo), and we are on vacation now. See? Lives not cancelled. Wear a mask and get on with life. We have never caught covid nor are we vaccinated either and we both work IP.

It is truly breathtaking how delusional and out of touch some people are. Is this a joke? It has to be satire. Sorry for stating the obvious if it is, because some types really are, earnestly, this stupid.

I moved my kids into private school last year, but before when they were in public one walked a mile each day and stayed after to play at the playground. It's really tough to replicate 2 miles of walking and an hour of sweaty play.

Who stopped you from making sure your kid got 2,000 (or, hopefully, a lot more) steps a day? Oh, right, nobody. School building are completely unnecessary for that and walking is free.

Sooooo maaaaany excuuuuuuses.

Dear Idiot Parents of DCUM,

At a certain age, yes, a kid’s life IS exclusively school and sports/activities (also known as friends and peers). They’re just not that into you. Being around you all day, every day, going on walks together, kicking a ball around, is TORTURE for them. They may be putting on a brave or happy face, but they are actually suffering.

Love,
A parent who remembers what childhood is like

No need for snark. And I do remember what childhood is like, and it's not what you described.
