What does everyone think about SYC

Better than the 2012 Samba Boyz and 2012 Samba Girlz?

SYC is good for littles too! So is LMVSC and South County. No wrong choice for the younger ones IMO.

There are actual better nearby options with good coaching.

Yep. Virginia Valor is not too far away. A truly excellent club playing in the top league.

I think it's going to look different this year.

Seems lots of movement happening all around. Have seen a number of external kids at tryouts and heard stories of multiple SYC kids at other tryouts at u9-u13.

What is this new "Academy" thing? Can anyone explain it.

Not top team, not Blue team...What then???

Probably the player pool for MLS Next and ECNL (remember some of the ECNL teams will be coached by MYS coaches); there will still be an order or teams. Just a renaming for the new leagues.

I just looked at the girls side too and it's the same "Academy, Blue". Most of the Union ECNL teams will be overwhelmingly MYS filled; so 'academy' will end up being the SYC CCL team. Not sure why some of the boys teams are labeled as "Academy 1" and "Academy".

Top team is ECNL/MLS Next. With their own coaches correct.

But what is the Academy then? They have different coaches. NOT ECNL or MLS Next.

For boys it will probably be 'the player pool'. From here, boys will be ECNL, MLS Next, or CCL.
