We are talking about an ARREST not a PROSECUTION. Learn the difference and shut up. |

I think the cop realized Floyd was dead. He couldn't get up at that point because it would be obvious that a corpse was on the ground. He needed it to continue to appear that he was holding a living, "resisting" person down. |
I think that the defense will be that he thought that he had his shin against his face. And that he was holding him down to tire him out so that they could get him into the cruiser. The guy did physically resist the officer when the officer was commanding him to get out of his vehicle. And the guy was doing some hard staggering - impaired? Trying to throw the cops escorting him off balance? Hard to say. He wasn't just walking compliantly and easily to the awaiting vehicle. He was being difficult. Even so, I do not understand what the officer was thinking kneeling on his neck like that after he was on the ground and under control. Had they tried to get him to stand up and he resisted? I just do not know. |

I'm trying to think of a situation where I, myself, would think it was ever a good idea to set fire to an innocent person's business, smash storefront glass and steal t.v.s, etc....and I am just not seeing myself ever thinking that was o.k.
Would I be mad if the police tossed a tear gas canister into my crowd of peaceful protesters? Yes, absolutely. Would I react by setting fire to a nearby apartment complex? Not only no, but hell no. I am shocked that anyone would try to justify that. |
|
I wonder which of the four cops will lie and say,
"I tried to say something to the one kneeling on him and tell him to stop cause the guy couldn't breathe but he didn't listen." |
| I saw the cop with his knee on the mans neck and didnt even see race. I saw the State killing a person because they had power over them. I'm white, I get it that I dont have an understanding of things like blacks do re the police. While I dont share that experience, the sheer civil rights impact of it....basically murder under color of law....is something that every free person should abhor. |

why are people rioting?? America agrees this is terrible
Im a white conservative trump supporter, support cops, etc. Once I watched the video, I would tell anyone it's beyond disgusting The black community is hurting themselves acting like this and rioting. Giving the media what it wants. Stop it! |
The "black community" is angry and sad and exhausted. You can only push people for so long before they push back. If you can't understand that, you're not actually trying. |
I get that. But wouldnt a peaceful march with thousands of people uniting for this cause be better? Wouldnt those images make a better impact for the world?? how is tearing apart a store helping? |
Yeah, not going to buy that as an excuse for looting and rioting and anybody that does is a racist with lower expectations for black people. |
Are you under the impression that all black people share a mind? It doesn't matter how many of us agree with you, and may want to have a peaceful protest if there are people who don't want that. There were in fact people peacefully protesting. Why do think there weren't? Some people were looting and rioting. INDIVIDUALS, with their own minds, motivations, and actions. |
Too much pent up rage. |
Then we have nothing more to discuss. You're not trying to understand. You just wanted to prove your point and call me, a black woman, a racist, for explaining why people are angry. |
| If it takes some fires and smashed windows to get and keep people's attention, so be it. Property is not more important than people. One side is murdering people, the other side is smashing windows, and a lot of you are riled up about the wrong one. |
