| It’s almost like some of the more extreme posters wanted something negative to go down. Plenty of gun owners of all walks of life, and many liberal gun owners were there in peace. |

For the life of me, I don’t understand the “I feel safe because I am locked and loaded.”
I mean, if it’s a security blanket or something, whatever, although a dog would achieve the same result. But if you were ever in some situation where you felt the need to use the thing, you probably would be in more danger than if you weren’t carrying. I mean half those idiots would likely shoot themselves in the foot. |
+1 they are mad we have the right to assembly |
Sigh. I don’t own a gun yet I’ve shot several. If you have the mental capacity to shoot a water gun, you can shoot a firearm. It’s not that difficult.... Posts like this actually give the mental crazy gun owners ammunition (no pun intended). |
Fact - the #1 media source (doesn't get more mainstream than that!), FoxNews, reported yesterday: "Also seen Sunday roaming the Capitol grounds was Alex Jones, the conspiracy theorist behind InfoWars. Members associated with the Light Foot Militia, some of whom were banned from Charlottesville, Va., following the deadly 2017 "Unite the Right" rally, are expected to attend Monday's protest. Richard Spencer, a prominent white nationalist, has also indicated he might make an appearance." https://www.foxnews.com/us/security-measures-heightened-as-thousands-head-to-richmond-for-large-gun-rights-rally |

I don't open carry or conceal carry. But, I do have a firearm. I live in the country, and many of those attending likely do as well. It would EASILY take a minimum of 20 minutes for police to get to my house. More likely, longer than that. So, yes, being locked and loaded when the police are nearly half an hour away is peace of mind. |
|
There were definitely credible threats made by ANTIFA linked groups and Neo Nazi groups.
Fortunately, peaceful protest won out. I didn’t see anything close to a confrontation between anyone. |
Here is the difference. Fox was reporting facts. Who was there... who may attend. Other media hyped the "white supremacist" angle of this story as seen in the montage posted earlier. The difference cannot be more stark. |
| So glad it was peaceful. |
Uh, it's not like we have the ability to force black folks to carry guns. The only thing we can do is welcome the ones who choose to into our fold and let them know they're among friends.
|
Well, they certainly tried their best to prevent that. Don't worry though, they're working on stopping it as you read this. |
Of course it was peaceful. 17,000 armed people is the most polite crowd you'll ever encounter. |
| I believe the FBI said members of The Base planned to attend. Please stick to facts not conspiracies. |
For which I am grateful. Glad the FBI arrested some of the bad actors before the rally. |
