This is where Spirit shot themselves in the foot. The failed to field competetive teams and now they cant put together a good recruiting strategy.

FCV beat WS fair and square. Team vs Team. Age group vs Age group. To the winner goes the riches. Never forget....its a competetion in more ways than one.

Simple

Sincerely,
WS Parent.

They failed to compete. Almost two years of scores back that up, and the constant pretense of "development over wins" is used to justify it. What I have to wonder is: can they? Is the inability to compete now something Spirit has locked itself into? Or can they make the choices it takes to win?

As a Spirit parent. Fair question. There are kids working hard and individually show well. But moves have to be made to continue.

does anyone know the picture for the 2007 WSVA team next year? Do they have a decent amount of girls interested? Given this thread, I am scared to even ask but am concerned that nobody can seem to answer how spirit plans to turn things around going forward.

There have been a lot of girls at ID sessions. Quality is varied. I suspect that more will show up as offers start to go out at places like FCV and Arlington.... Not everyone will make those clubs' teams, and there will still be some solid girls to consider. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and not all coaches want the same attributes in a player....

Do all those 2008 players that are playing up on 2007 plan to do so again? Has the coach given any indication if he plans to do that again? Is it 3 2008 players currently playing 2007?

There is no Spirit 07 DA team.

It's one 2008 and one 2007 on the 2006 team. One of the 2007s left and the other plays 2005. I don't know what they all are planning,

To be clear, there is not an 07 DA team at any club -- not just Spirit. There are 3 2008s playing on the FCV 2007 team that will likely continue to play up on the FCV DA team that will begin for 2019-2020. At Spirit, there are a few play ups, including a 2008, who are playing on the 2006 team.

How come WSMD is having way more success than WSVA?

A longer established and higher quality feeder club in Pipeline is why.

Because they have proper coaches and a pipeline.

Well WSVA is screwed if they are banking on the GF feeder being their saving grace.
