The accent is okay. It is the skretching voice that makes us change channels. Obviously BBC owes the ABC News Director married to the skretching. We don't stand a chance at a change until she retiires.

And here I thought I was the only person who cringes at the voice of "The Grackle"( a North American bird related to the crow). I usually just leave the room when she comes on.

A most dreadful accent to represent the BBC anywhere. How on earth did she get this job? It is nothing to do with being snobbish, it is just a dreadful estuary accent that is really really awful for a front line journalist!

It sounds normal to me? Just like a British accent? Dont listen to BBC if you dont like British accents! I personally cant stbd podcast voice, vocal fry and upspeaking.

If it is normal to anyone, he or she needs a hearing test. The screeching runs thru our nervous systems like an electric shock. Change the channel.

She isn't going anywhere. Her husband is head of ABC News, so she has lots of pull. Best thing to do is switch channels.

Oh dear! I saw and heard for the first time last night here in the UAE Laura Trevelyan reporting from New York
and I must say I found her voice and her delivery of certain words extremely off-putting. Clearly, Laura knows
her stuff, but the voice is excruciating and I just wonder why she hasn't had any elocution lessons along the way
which would have smoothed out those screeching vowels and wailing cat intonations that make listening to her
such an arduous exercise.

For some unknown reason when someone has an annoying voice they get into public speaking of some sort.
However, she's a good looking broad so I'd ..., her behind a jet engine 🤪

Can’t watch BBC America because of Laura’s incredibly irritating voice. Seems like I’m not alone, but she remains!

Since she appeared, my PBS viewing has declined significantly as my Internet usage has gone up. It's turned out to be a good tradeoff. No voices on the NY Times website.
