Because they don't want to inconvenience themselves. They would far rather do things their way even if it means violating a rule and causing others discomfort and upset. I have no problem with you not sending your child in the men's room. If he is over the posted age, however, then bring him home wet, change him with a towel around him, get a speedo coat, meant to provide warmth when cold and in a wet suit, etc.

Or, no, because it is ridiculous that places make rules but provide no other accommodations like family changing rooms, and maybe in the summer your idea works but hell no am I taking my kid outside, wet, in winter, even with a special coat. It has nothing to do with inconvenience. It has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that if you have an issue with a young child changing with his mom and not being left alone with strange men, YOU ARE A PERVERT.

YOU are an entitled ass! Perhaps the solution is to find a way to make the men's locker room safe for kids to change in. Perhaps you should seek to have the rules and laws in place actually enforced. Perhaps the solution to your problem is not bucking the rules that you don't like, and disregarding the comfort of the people the room was actually intended for. But you can't think past your own damn nose.

And you're an effing bitch who shouldn't be allowed in public without a handler anyway. I will gladly use a family changing room if one is available. If one isn't, tough shit. YOU are entitled to go to the car wet and change at home if you're bothered. Seriously though, if a 5 year old minding his business and changing is so concerning to you, you should seriously seek therapy. That is not normal AT ALL.

If you are upset or uncomfortable, that's your issue. You should explore why a young child changing in a changing room makes you uncomfortable. Maybe you're really into little boys?

It's a LADIES room. You and your kid's issues don't trump the rights of every woman and girl that would like to use the locker room without being peeped at. The entitlement is just insane.

You're sick. Why do you assume a 5 year old boy is staring at you? Seriously, you're just disgusting.

+1 I would report someone this creepy to management. They shouldn't be allowed around kids.

Your logic is laughable. Who is the ladies room for? Why in the hell should I be the one to forgo using it? Idiot.

I wonder at what age PPs think boys go from "he is not looking at you changing!" to "he's a molestor because he's male!"

Women, and by default their young children who can't be left alone. It's common everywhere. If you have an issue, you should take it up with management and ask them to put in family changing rooms.

In the meantime, I'll keep bringing my kids in, and your pervy ass can huff and puff all you want, but there isn't a damn thing you can do. Management isn't going to die on that hill.

Who said anything about BOYS (not men) being molesters?

I have no issue with pre-pubescent boys in the locker room

Funny, it's all bitchy women here. Men don't have an issue with dads and their daughters.

Well, it's at least 5 yeas old.

It doesn't really matter who likes or doesn't like whatever. People aren't going to take risks with their kids just because someone is a pissy prude or even because management put up a sign. anyone who doesn't like it will have to live with being uncomfortable.

I take pity on you, going through life in such fear of pervs around every corner, expecting the world to bend to your crazy fears and needs. Your kids are going to be seriously fucked up in so many ways. You're probably one of those who loves to rag on millennial. That generation you're raising is going to be 10 times worse.

The assumption here is that boys are unsafe in men's locker rooms because men are molesters. The question is, at what point does your precious male snowflake go from helpless babe needing to hide amongst the women, to assumed pervert? We're sick for thinking he'd peek at us, but obviously you think at some point all men lose all sense of sexual self control. At what age does that switch flip in your mind?

No one is asking you to take risks. Simply keep your neurotic ass at home.

There are other reasons people might not want their kid alone in the locker room besides perverts. Distracted, needs help, etc.

No, I don't think men lose all sense of self control at all. I think there are some pervs out there, sure, but also that kids need help. I think this thread has proven there are also sick women out there.

Also, I don't have a 5 year old boy, I just think it's ridiculous for the PPs not to be able to take their kid in. I do have a 5 year old girl and somehow this isn't an issue the other way around.

A lot of gyms could solve this issue by just providing family changing rooms or curtained stalls. What would you recommend someone with a disabled child who is older, but mentally an infant, do?

I'll take my chances. I have yet to see anyone kicked out of a gym or pool for that. Then again, I've seen very few that actually have age limits so low, and zero that have age limits but don't also have several family changing rooms.
