Bro; the girls know who is who. Oregon scored a number of goals; just one example. 6 ft defender was likely not an 8th grader either. You can say that Cap should have played better, but don't make stuff up.

They lost to a bunch of 8th graders and now you are making things up. I was there and have a kid on the team. You obviously weren’t and made up a Virginia myth.

GC dad still tweakin’ over that Capital recruit list.

The area has been begging for program to step up and compete with Cap maybe M&D DC is that but time will tell. But at least with M&D DC, they have the name and support of the main club and their recruiting machine at the top level and they also have someone who is committed to getting the girls recruited here locally in KCM. Pride when they stepped into the HS game they didn't have any of that it was all being started from scratch...

The below recruiting history is all any savvy player/parent should need to make a decision to tryout for Capital. I heard one player was injured never played during recruiting and still got a top D1 school. The college coaches never saw the player on the field and she still got recruited because on Capital.

Unless BLC or Pride start to stay on for HS or retain talent, Capital can do just fine as is.

The talent in Pride for younger years are leaving. Check to see how they are doing. BLC is Capital's only viable pipeline now.

Where are they leaving to go to?

Perhaps. But it is highly unlikely M&D DC will step in to fill any void, at least at ‘29. As multiple posts have pointed out, M&D DC is NL with a guest appearance by KM. Wasn’t the former SJC coach supposed to be this person last year? Did that work out? Point is, we have all seen these promises before. I agree that Capital should start its pipeline earlier and maybe they will figure out a successful way to do that. If your kid is truly a top player, I’d invest the time and energy in trying out for a MD team or tryout for Capital as of now if I was on M&D DC ‘29. Too much of a gamble in my opinion to stick with M&D DC at this point. But best of luck to everyone.

The gamble sounds like it’s on Capital. They have shown us their efforts, why should we overlook if it’s just 27s and 28s.

This is such a circular argument. What efforts has Capital “shown us”? All I see are results from Capital, M&D Black, SW and Hero’s at the ‘26 level and up. I agree that Capital can do better on a number of fronts, not the least of which is the atrocious website but are you blind to the mess that was NL? Do you think KM, who is a fantastic coach, is really going to be a difference maker at M&D DC. I think Capital is the much safer bet.

Pressure isn’t on Capital. Performance of 24s and 23s similar to 27s and 28s where the recruiting was stellar. Until Cap’s recruit list shows sign of weakness, pressure is on everyone else to compete. Parents of kids considering MD will all ask - why travel the miles and be miserable in the car for the same recruiting results? Parents of M&DDC will ask - why risk my kid’s future on an unproven experiment?

Time will tell but Cap should not be asleep at the wheel believing no one will ever come in and compete because it is just a matter of when and whom that will be not if. The first thing they need to do is get and stay active on all fronts of their social media where they are pretty much nonexistent. If you want to see how it should be done follow the Yellow Jackets IG and watch how well they promote not just their brand but the girls.
