He could be a solid hire. |
| Sounded like families were concerned if FCV was moving to Springfield to train and retain BP. Now that it's certain he's going to VDA, wonder how many families will make that trek to Woodbridge/Haymarket. |
| Now, now folks. I'm sure that it was a challenging situation w/no clear-cut solution. Instead of joining the mob that criticizes and second guesses, try to understand the complexity of the situations. Extend some grace & empathy. Maybe even encourage ol' BP in his new endeavor. |
True maybe it wasn’t the coaches deciding to leave a good thing but TSJ pushing them out |
When has Bobby ever extended such grace & empathy to the local clubs, coaches and kids? |
link? |
| Oh, my! I feel for the families that left ECNL clubs and went to FCV for BPs college placement prowess. Yikes! Grass ain't always greener, as they say. 😱 |
For the VDA parents accustomed to partying it up around the practice fields -. enjoy it while you can and start training yourselves to stay in your car for the duration. Change is coming your way 😂 |
| FCV keeping GA, is that just for the spring season or for the 24/25 season and beyond? Does this squash the supposed FCV/Revolution merging rumblings. |
It's for the 24/25 season and beyond. They have hired a new GA director that will start this month, as well as a new GA coach. The only thing we don't know yet is where the FCV fields will be. FCV/Revolution merger would seem to be a no-go. After all this speculation not much has really changed as far as the clubs are concerned. Just a lot of coaches shuffling from club to club. |
| Is BP just going to be the girls' director at VDA or is he going to be director and coach, like he did at FCV? |
| Is FCV going under? Is that why coaches and admin are leaving? |
Good luck with that. The VDA parents who have star kids on teams have been allowed to get away with annoying, inappropriate, rude, obnoxious, entitled, back-door-dealing behavior for years during practices and games (constantly yelling at referees and loudly coaching players from the sidelines) and they are not going to give up that power. You'll see. Parents screaming at players during games to pass the ball to only one kid on offense. BP will be able to change the younger teams parental behavior, maybe, but definitely not the 2011, 2010 and up. |

It's a culture clash for sure. If he made sure he would be able to gain some control on certain aspects to try to implement what he believes works, then things should improve with time. If he's just going in not knowing, he's in for a rude awakening as far as how business is done over there.
I also wonder how things will play out with players. 24/25 oldest group would be 07/06, VDA has the upper hand with the 06's while FCV has a strong 07 group. Would be a great mix if some of the stronger players come over. |
BP won't be fazed by any of that. There will be a CULTure change. If you know, you know. Buckle up! |
