Looks like Youngkin didn’t get the memo.

He condemned it as well. As you know.

Youngkin is despicable MAGA trash. He doubled down this evening when given the chance to apologize and clarify his comments. Unclear what his fleece vest thought of this. Just as Jesus preached to his disciples I guess.

He didn't "double down" on anything. Do go on, though.

“As the governor clearly said, the assault on Paul Pelosi was wrong and there is no place for violence,” a spokesperson from the Governor’s Office said. “He wishes him a full recovery and is keeping the Pelosi family in his prayers.”

In other words, he meant what he said, he’s happy that Nancy Pelosi could have been killed and he doesn’t mind that her husband was gravely injured.

Once again, outstanding work to those of you who fell for his line about being “moderate.” Time to sit with your decision and maybe rethink some of the shibboleths you’ve come to believe.

I dont think any of Youngkin’s voters regret it. They just wanted to stick it to the libs.

Agree but not all of them were sticking it to the libs, just people in specific roles. Sheesh.

Conservatives everywhere have denounced this horrible attack - you can stop spinning your false narrative. Far more conservatives, in fact, have genuinely condemned it than liberals did when Rand Paul was viciously attacked. But I get that it’s convenient to never mention that.

OMG Rand Paul was not attacked for partisan motives! Read that slowly a few times and let it sink in.

OMG who cares if he was attacked for partisan motives or not? The fact is, a Republican elected official was violently attacked and DCUM liberals made light of it, mocking him constantly even though his attacker sent him to the hospital with broken ribs, causing other health issues that he suffers from to this day. To summarize: liberals think it’s just hilarious when a conservative is attacked. But when it’s one of their own, they conveniently forget about all the vile remarks they previously.

How about YOU read that slowly a few times and let it sink in.

Why would they denounce something they have work so hard for? Conservatives are defending this as normal politics and this is what you get for not being a republican.

Oh, BS. Grow up and stop spewing garbage.

Yes, Elon will destroy Twitter. Quickly and in a spectacular fashion.

Whatever Jeff earns moderating this site, it is not enough.

And seriously— avoid the Twitter comments. You've been warned.

Yes, I noticed that the person upthread who challenged the fact that Fox News had shut down comments on the Pelosi article hasn’t come back. “Oh none of their articles have comments enabled!” Yeah, they all do except this one, because apparently what was there was so vile that they put a stop to it.

DP. There are plenty of articles on Fox News about this attack and they all have comments enabled. What are you even talking about?

As many have said it will be a difficult recovery for Paul and Nancy will always feel (undeservedly) guilty for his injuries.

Nancy has spent her life as a loyal public servant and deserves better from her Republican opponents . They caused this with their relentless rhetoric.

Oh, please.
You know who caused this? A crazed lunatic who likely suffers from some undiagnosed (or diagnosed and untreated) mental illness.
There has been heated rhetoric from both sides.

Nope. First of all, dems have not made extensive death threats against Republicans.

Second of all, Dems have not violently attacked Republicans and their families.

January 6.
All the death threats against Dems. And this.

All of a cloth.

Democrats employ different rhetoric and action then the Republicans.

They had to disable comments on one article.

Not sure why my questions about the third person was deleted.

That person was described in the NPR reports, one linked below. I thought maybe this person let the intruder in. Another report indicated that the 911 operator could hear two other voices in the background — one making threats. Seems like a second person in the house may have been accosted. Kids and grandkids thankfully were not in the house, so maybe this was a housekeeper?

https://www.gpb.org/news/2022/10/29/dispatchers-intuition-may-have-saved-paul-pelosi-san-franciscos-police-chief-say

Officers arrived at the Pelosi residence at 2:27 a.m. Scott said they knocked on the door and the door was opened by "someone inside." Officers saw Mr. Pelosi and an adult male, who police have identified as 42-year-old David Depape, "both holding a hammer."

Doubtful. They certainly didn't have to on the other articles about the same subject.

Oh, FFS. that is NOT what he said. At all. Just stop with the hyperbole and craziness.

+100
Just unbelievable that the PP is concocting words out of thin air that have no basis in reality. Absolutely delusional.

Oh, FFS. that is NOT what he said. At all. Just stop with the hyperbole and craziness.

Just imagine for a moment that the current governor of Virginia and the former CEO of the Carlyle Group was smart enough, during a campaign event for a House member of the opposing party to the current Speaker, to find words to express how he wanted his party to win the House without mentioning that Speaker whose husband was currently undergoing lifesaving surgery due to a politically motivated attack. He could say “we’re going to take back the people’s House.” Or “Yesli Vega is going to help this party flip the House of Representatives.” Or “with your help we’ll put the GOP and Kevin McCarthy in charge.” Those are just off the top of my head and I’m just a buzzed non-campaign operative. There are other ways for Republicans to say they want to win without continuing to target this woman on the very day that her husband is recovering from an attack that was meant for her.

At the time I made that post, the top Pelosi story on Fox News did not have comments enabled and every other nonsense story on Fox News did.
