If you've ever worked a campaign you know that's exactly the opposite of how it works. They take any momentum and run with it to make the opposing team look crazy. Unless the opposing team is right. Then they lock their accounts, try to hide at home, and hope they didn't completely kill their campaign. Kind of like what John Edwards did when he got cornered with his mistress.
