| These are hilarious! Maybe Gavin is marrying Sarah Palin's daughter. |
| Gavin organized a Pro-Life rally. Despite having no uterus, he does have an opinion. |
Are these still made up ones, or is this the real reason she's vague posting? |
| I have a question and I am not trying to be snarky. I am usually up to date with pop culture but I have no idea who this woman is... even after I googled her. How did you all hear of her b/c looking at the number of replies to this thread a crap ton of you are invested! What am I missing, lol? |
| Knowing how melodramatic she is, it's probably nothing |
| The ironic thing is that people can't tell if these suggested "tragedies" are real or not! I honestly thought maybe one of her older sons had publicly affiliated himself with a conservative Republican candidate or something. |
She's not really pop culture -- she started out in conservative Christian culture. Most people who are invested in her most likely are/were conservative American Christian moms raising kids sometime within the past 20 years. |
| She’s incredibly red in her Plea for Florida vid in Facebook. Super super flushed. Is she okay? |
|
Ugh. Her grocery post is so tone deaf. Does she have absolutely no idea how so many people are struggling right now?
Gross. |
| For a couple of the All The Dish tour events you can see how many tickets are still available. It looks really bleak. Some of the cities maybe 20% of the venue sold, if that. I wonder how many tickets they have to sell to break even with the venue and cover travel costs? |
Every single weekend that I go to the grocery store, prices are higher. Going to an athletic event or concert may be an extra that people may still splurge on, but I think going to an influencer’s event seems like it would be low on anyone’s list. To your point, most of the events are at churches so those costs are probably minimal. Travel and production costs would be pricey though. |
|
That's an interesting observation...who are her audience now? When I saw her here in SoCal, it was at a local non-denom church and it was packed for both days for her teaching.
Her cookbook has some great recipes, but it's a crowded field. And she while she gained a ton of followers with her shifts in the past 5 years, she lost a lot, too, so I wonder if it's a wash. |
|
It’s hard to keep an audience for any length of time largely on personality and brand alone.
Look at the gals who were sort of big things 5 or 10 years ago. How many have been able to keep their careers going as strongly? |
Rachel Hollis is also on "tour" now and their Reddit thread has sleuthed attendance at hers. So far I think maybe 100 or so at each venue. I think the luster of these influencers has defintely worn off! |
| Here's the thing- I'm glad she's putting out a cookbook. I feel like it's needed after running off half of her base because she "hates" them politically. But you can bet I'm waiting to buy it until I can see if it has "I hate Republican potatoes" in it or something else equally divisive and ridiculous. And they burned me with the "pre-order my book" thing when one of Brandon's books offered a free journal and the journal was a stapled pamphlet. |
