Today is CB’s birthday. What an irony he was caught few days before.

Here is my guess. If CB didn’t get to call police before BB and JM showed up, they’d just kill JR and CB as planned. There’s no way JM isn’t part of it. BB was clearly waiting for her call in the McDonald’s parking lot. I think BB asked JM to shoot JR a second time, which was not necessary to incapacitate JR, and even if it was, BB could just shoot JR a second round, because he wanted both of them to have blood on their hands so that JM couldn’t just change her mind and incriminate him easily.

I have a hard time understanding why BB would involve JM and his daughter in all the events at the house that morning. It seems to add an unnecessary layer of complication and risk. Why not just let them go to the zoo and have BB return home because he forgot his lunch, or work laptop? Maybe JM was part of the planning and that is why it took so long to get her to roll over on BB.

Everyone is confused about one thing. There is no evidence or news from any source that JM has rolled over. It's a fact that her trial is still on for the exact date planned, and that is proven by her lawyer making a motion to exclude evidence taken in by police when she volunteered to give an account right after the police showed up. The prosecution office has said they are going forward. If you do a plea deal you dont fight evidence admittance and the dates would totally change and not go forward without a change. In addition there was said by LE that new evidence made it possible to do the arrest on BB. There is no current reported flipping at all. There from what I read a big amount of forensics digital and physical that made this possible. DC area has some of the biggest and best forensic science in the world. That can literally take forever in back logged cases that utilize this facilities forensic labs and skilled scientists.

Attorney here. This poster is right. This hearing would have been canceled if she had flipped.

In fact this hearing give BB a huge preview. Extremely helpful to him, and of course if she wins the suppression, huge win for his case.

I don’t agree. And I am sure they sincerely thought she was at risk. And under some coercion. Wouldn’t you? They didn’t know about the affair at that point. So I believe it when they say she wasn’t a suspect at this point.

And the fact is, they took her and the daughter to a “comfort room“ at the station, not a room for questioning. Only hours later did they take her to a room for questioning.

Why didn’t the WAPO reporter summarize the indictment? Is it not publicly available? We know this court in VA is serious about making sure cases are public. See Depp case. If not available, not sure the reason.

We do not know whether or not JPM flipped. However, the fact that her attorney is moving to suppress evidence or that a hearing was not cancelled in no way demonstrates that she has not flipped. Until a plea deal is finalized and guilty plea entered, it can fall apart so both sides continue to try to place themselves in the best possible legal position until then. An earlier poster pointed out that they could even postpone her trial until after his to make sure she testifies against him if that is what she has agreed to. But, again, we simply do not know whether or not she has flipped. She would have been well advised to do so by her attorney if he could get her a relatively minimal sentence. But all this is speculation.

AP might have said something to another inmate, who then told police. That's not uncommon. And AP isn't the kind of girl who has experience with the penal system. She might be looking for a confidant in jail. Prosecutors might have testimony of a jailmate saying "AP said she and BB planned ...." Or maybe prosecutors have some info from JR's phone/website accounts and they were able to connect the metadata to BB.

There HAS to be some explanation for how JR is in the room with a naked CB and CB isn't calling police or hiding/screaming. JR (not being an actual attacker) would run out if he thought CB didn't want to see him. One possibility is that she was already mortally wounded when JR and BB came into the room together. Just one possibility. There is no risk of JR calling police if BB (posing as CB) is telling him to wait in the foyer "until my husband comes home" and they are supposed to come into the room together. We don't know what JR was being told by BB or JM when they were posing as CB.

The theory of the case has to explain how CB was in the bedroom naked when JR was also there. One explanation is that she wasn't conscious when JR was there. Another explanation is that CB was alive and expecting BB -- but instead of BB coming into the bedroom alone, BB arrived with JR, and then BB killed CB in front of JR. That seems fraught b/c maybe JR would try to stop BB from actually killing CB. But, if JR thought it was all play-acting, then he might play along until BB pulled out a gun and shot JR too!

Anyone with a theory must explain why CB is naked in the presence of JR, and she wasn't running away or hiding in the bathroom.

BB could have told CB to shower and wait for him. (It was his birthday afterall). BB via voice changer tells JR to wait in the bedroom while “she’s in the shower”. This gives time for JR to be in the house with her without knowing something was up.
