I literally nearly choked today at dinner. I thought I would have to call 911. DW told me afterward it wouldn't happen if I didn't try to shovel my food down so fast! Not a concern about whether I was OK. Also, she was grossed out by my throwing up in the sink. My DD said she didn't need all the drama! Fuck off to the two of them!

How many times have you done this? My DH used to do it fairly regularly bc he really wolfed his food. I had to tell him point blank how gross it was. Eventually he stopped.

I had a surgically corrected TEF as a baby. As a result, it is very easy for me to choke. The last time I actually did choke on something was about 15 years ago. Tonight, was pretty close. I could breathe, but it was definitely wedged in my throat near the trachea entrance because I was wheezing and whistling as air came in and out. I had to force myself to cough, eventually vomiting out some of it and swallowing the rest. I was scared. My DW is a bad woman.

You sound so incredibly immature it's a bit difficult to take you seriously. I think it's very scary to watch someone choke, especially when you feel powerless to stop it. Your family reacted badly by throwing the blame on you.

What you need to do pronto is teach the Heimlich to your wife and daughter, and perhaps coworkers. That is the life-saving maneuver they need to know.
Clint Eastwood recently saved someone's life by performing the Heimlich on them.

And your wife's right - stop wolfing down your food. It's vulgar.

My boyfriend sometimes chokes (but not to the extent you did, just a cough and gag like think) because he scarfs his food. It is disgusting.

Take small bites. Chew for a while. Swallow. Take a sip of water, maybe wipe your mouth with a napkin. Breathe. Then take another bite.

Uh huh. My guess is that that poor man bangs on endlessly when he feels like he's received insufficient sympathy for his ingrown toenail, headache, indigestion, hurt feelings, etc.
