Meghan Markle and Prince Harry News and Updates Part 4

BTW I don't think the ANL/Daily Mail will be paying based off all 250 million monthly users. That's 3 billion users a year and would probably equate a payout of $500 million+.

I do think that now the possible payout is north of $50 million considering just how many users the Daily Mail has, how vociferous they were about Meghan Markle content, and the rumors that the letter(s) were the most viewed content on their site in the year of publication.

The opinions of any of us on this forum don't matter and will have no impact whatsoever on someone who can't maintain close family relationships with anyone in her husband's family or anyone on either side of her own family, other than her mother.

FFS,clearly you only read the entertainment forum on DCUM. Almost half the complaints on this board are about folks have disowned their mothers, brothers and won't even pick up their elderly fathers from the airport. He11, I haven't spoken to my father (He was a d1ck)or any member of his family in nearly 20 years.

I've read enough to know and been around long enough to know that what I wrote about her lack of closeness to ANY family members other than her mother is very atypical.

?? She's an only child of two parents. One of those parents has behaved absolutely horrendously, so I don't blame Meghan for giving him the cold shoulder. What exactly is atypical about that?

Also remember that Samantha Markle's own daughter and mother called Samantha out for being obsessive about Meghan, and said that Meghan had always been nothing but kind.

You're omitting parts of what I wrote. Sure, if dad and that side of family are truly horrendous (although she has those genes, too), then I'd understand. That leaves her mom's family and Harry's family, but she's not close to them either. Do you honestly think everyone is at fault but Meghan??
Doria Markle is an only child. Her parents are deceased. What family. Doria is her family. In regards to Harry's family, half you heifers on DCUM biatch and moan about your in-laws and have wished you did not have to deal with your own in-laws. Besides, it's not her responsibility to have a relationship with her husband's family, especially if he does not want to.

Responsibility? No. Still strange to have no close family relationships out of all the possibilities.

DP. At the risk of pointing out the obvious here, you have no idea what the dynamic is like with either side her family. You're presuming that she had a close knit immediate and extended family her entire life and then dropped them when she met Harry. You have no idea whether her parents were close with their extended families. You have no idea whether she was close with any extended family growing up. Yet you're SO SURE that any lack of closeness on both sides MUST be her fault, regardless of all the other people involved or what may have occurred between family members over the years. Your insistence that she is the cause of the dynamic in her family is downright bizarre.

I have never said it was her fault or that she is the cause of the dynamic in her family; however, that degree of dysfunction is not typical and has spilled over into her relationships with her in-laws.

You are implying that she is at the root of the dysfunction by stating that it's "strange" she has no close family relationships. Don't try to walk it back now.

Also, "that degree of dysfunction" is much more common than you think. It's just that most of us don't get our dirty laundry aired for the world to see so you may not be aware of it. Honestly, there's nothing all that unusual about her family dynamic other than the entire world knows all about it.

Not walking back anything. I will repeat. It's not her fault that she comes from a dysfunctional family, but it HAS affected her and it is NOT typical to have no close family relationships other than one's mom and husband.

I totally agree.

I also think the tone and nastiness shown by Meghan towards Kate during the interview was unmistakable.

Did you actually watch the interview? Kate and Meghan are not friends and clearly never were. She’s not obligated to decline to correct a misconception about who made who cry. You really expect her to be Jesus Christ.

Of course they didn’t watch they interview! They just do what they always do, accuse Meghan of being the devil and responsible for all the wrongs of the world. Because she has that much power.

DP. I watched the interview. In pieces, over time, since watching it straight through was just too painful.

It was awful, as any tell-all interview would be. They complained so much, emoted so much pain, but said nothing of substance. Just two hours of extreme angst. And some potshots at various mostly unnamed family members. But the Queen is great!

All while Philip was laying on his deathbed.

+1 another example of keeping family members at an emotional distance

Did William or Charles account for how Meghan was feeling while pregnant and suicidal while they allowed their tabloids to publish lies about her? For people that say america should not care about the British monarchy, you sure do care about their feelings a lot.

Some people buy the idea that a women receiving top medical help could not get assistance for depression during pregnancy. Good on you. For me, and maybe for anyone else who has actually received prenatal medical care, that weepy claim carries a big whiff of horseshit.

Oh pardon me, I didn’t know you were part of the royal family.

I guess it was hard for a young woman who's an actress and a graduate of Northwestern University to express her feelings and suicidal thoughts to her physician, pastor, or husband so that she could get help. Unbelievably, she did find the words when her communication skills were used to broadcast her thoughts on a variety of personal issues on worldwide television to millions of people. Perhaps $$$ was a motivator?

Looks like you have her figured out. Let’s wrap it up folks!

With what do you disagree?

Meghan Markle the actress, pre-engagement with Harry, could have sought whatever help she wanted. Once she was part of the family, she didn’t have the same freedom. Aren’t you Meghan haters always angry that she refused to live by the mantra, never complain, never explain’? Once she left the firm, she is free to say what she wants. Why is this so difficult for YOU to understand?

Besides, Diana (who I think was awesome) said more personally damaging things in her interviews before her death than Meghan actually said but haters are twisting everything that comes out of her mouth.

Anonymous wrote:Now that she has won AGAIN - I will take bets on exactly how much the Associated News/Daily Fail will be paying the Duchess of Sussex in damages for her momumental case.

Remember - Meghan demanded a full account of the PROFITS they made from her letter over a 2 year period. Now its a 4 year period. And she is acknowledged as the reason the DF was keeping its doors open in the first place from 2017 - 2020.

I will start the bidding at $15 million. This does not include the legal fees they are required to pay on her behalf which total $3 million.

$22.5 million is what I'm thinking now.

It can't be less than $50 million with the way the Daily Fail is acting like they've been shot, stabbed, robbed and want to take this to the U.K. Supreme Court.

Plus this is basically the first time I've seen them have to release figures specifically off how much they make off huge celebrities and hate.

Does anyone here think 100+ million?

Considering they just roped in the PRIME. MINISTER. of the entire United Kingdom to give a statement on the trial they lost, I can't see how it could be anything else.

Hmm, 250 million users a month. Times 36 months since the 5 articles specifically including the letter were published. Not including the fact that each USER would have visited the site multiple times a day, a week, a month. This is going to be the biggest settlement in publication history.

The site attracts 250m unique users a month, 90m of whom are in the US, according to the [Daily Mail] company.

Isn’t it rather delusional and narcissistic to assume everyone who reads DM flocks to the site specifically for MM gossip?

I skim DM daily, and I rarely click on articles about the royals.

Not really. Rota has been whining non-stop that their golden goose has flown the coop since 2020. The publication follows wherever the money leads - there's a reason they were publishing 10-15 articles a day non-stop about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry while they were UK residents. There's a reason they also ADMITTED they knew they broke the law by publishing the article and did it anyway. $$$.

DM also publishes multiple articles about the Kardashians everyday. Khloe, Kim and now Kourtney have their own articles each day.

I'm not a Meghan hater at all. You're making assumptions. Do I think she could have told Harry or her doctor and gotten help? Yes, I do.

Yeah, I don't think they're throwing a fit of epic portions for anything that's less. Let me know if you find that betting site! @.@

I’m convinced that the majority of people who hate Meghan/love Will&Kate are 50+ year old white conservatives on either side of the pond. Brexiteers/Trumpers who are projecting their own anxieties onto Meghan.

Yup, pretty much. It’s totally fine to prefer one over the other but to turn Meghan into the boogeyman and the cause of all problems in the world is where it turns into bizarre and obsessive behavior.

Why would William and Kate tour the U.S.? The U.S. is not part of the Commonwealth, and as an American, I detest the idea of rolling out the red carpet for foreign royals whose entire existence is predicated on the belief that they’re better than everyone else.

The thought of this makes me cringe. It’s sad because they really don’t have any actual talent or career to fall back on.

Huh? They've got a career. They don't need to fall back on anything. Unless there's a revolution in the UK. Is that what you're cringing about? The possibility of a violent revolution?
