Why is Blake Lively so overrated?

I am confused as to when he was being told that he needed to get her to stop talking. Between takes I guess? She talked less in the second and third take.

I also don't get why he couldn't just say, as the director, "I want to do a take with no talking, just us looking at each other and with a lot of physical contact, just so we have options when we edit." If he wanted to be diplomatic, he could have done one take where they area talking and laughing, and then one his way. That would have been an easy way to appease her but still get the shot he wanted. It also seems like it would have been a good way to maintain a positive rapport with his co-star, which seems like it would be important to the rest of the movie.

Maybe he didn't mind the talking but was also trying to appease the other producers. Why is it Blake vs Justin/Heath/producers for peoe? Why not Blake vs Justin vs Heath/other producers?

That's not an out there theory. I don't think it means Justin or Blake were having an affair either. He liked Blake's ideas enough to work with her but he also had commitments with his team. He was stuck in the middle.

Seems like he was on eggshells a lot of the time because he wasn’t used to working with such a “big star” and was trying to keep the peace, and it backfired on him.

Maybe he thinks she’s a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Maybe he’s a crappy director. Maybe she had already exhibited diva behavior. Maybe the studio said to let her get her way. Maybe they were worried she’d walk. Maybe he’s a people pleaser. Maybe he likes being more more collaborative than dictatorial. Who cares. Did he harass her here? No. Did the events transpire as she reported? No.

Yes. I could see the argument that he was not effective and did not run the set well. That's also what buzz we were hearing when the movie first came out. But that's not what BL is alleging.

This is absurd - they are trying to pretend this is a normal workplace setting where touching is off limits and not a romcom set! https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/blake-lively-breaks-silence-on-justin-baldoni-it-ends-with-us-footage/

"No woman should have to take defensive measures to avoid being touched by their employer without their consent." The whole longer statement context just makes it even more clearly out of touch with reality.

This is really unfair and moving the goalposts. Sounds like you this is saying, well he was an inexperienced director, and therefore it’s totally fine for him to be accused of sexual harassment.

He may have been an inexperienced director who could’ve improved the situation. It absolutely does not mean anything that was going on in that scene would be perceived by any reasonable person as sexual harassment.

It also doesn’t give lively the right to lie and conveniently leave out that he didn’t go right from kissing her neck to telling her she smells good. She left out critical context and totally misrepresented the situation.

I also feel like he was in a no win situation - if we had footage where he was being more of a dick director which I’m sure happens every day in Hollywood, people would just complain he was treating her inappropriately and creating a bad set and not letting her collaborate.

I think he wanted to make her feel comfortable because this was a scene that required some delicacy. It must be tough to do a scene like this even if you are in experienced actor. I’m sure he was doing his best to make her feel comfortable and he didn’t want to bark directions at her or be harsh with her.

I really feel for this guy. He didn’t want any of this. None of what she and her husband is doing is OK.

I feel like they are trying to gaslight us with that statement!

While after seeing this video, I just feel like she blatantly lied, in trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, I have always thought Ryan was controlling a-hole. I’m wondering if one of the reasons that she wanted to see all the footage is actually him demanding to see all the footage of them interacting.

I really think he’s behind so much of this. There is speculation that one of the reasons that she was uncomfortable during the promotion of this could be a trauma response. And I’m not saying that Ryan hits her but I think he could be very controlling and emotionally abusive.

So, why it makes me sad for her, Justin doesn’t deserve to be dragged into this, and doesn’t deserve to be labeled a sexual harasser just because RR is incredibly jealous and controlling.

Shes not even defensive in the video. Did she report him right after this happened?

“Releasing this video to the media, rather than presenting it as evidence in court, is another example of an unethical attempt to manipulate the public,” the statement read.

Lol did they forget about their NYT article?

I am so glad the New York Times is finally in trouble for fake news and slander. It's about time

He's hot. She thinks she is hot. She was insecure right after a baby and felt rejected by his professionalism and the final straw was asking the trainer what her weight was for a carrying scene. Blake has insecurity about her weight. She also was not exactly a shoo in for this role. She's playing a woman in her early 20's in her late 30's as a mom of 4. Justin as the director probably had initial doubts she could play the role.

The movie is about domestic violence but Ms. Superfeminist does not like women being seen as weak so she went on a promo campaign about her hair products instead of the movie's actual plot. She's very sanctimonious, takes herself very seriously, and is quite self righteous, and Justin is sarcastic, calm, clinical about acting and not injecting personal beliefs/politics to a movie script's characters or movie's promotion.
