I'm interested why the rest of the group didn't ditch Wint when it became widely known that he was wanted? At the time, he was the only associated with the crime. If I'm the other people, I'm thinking "You're on your own man...don't travel with us."

You think everyone else ate their pizza crusts

Because he's their friend and their brother and they don't think he did it?

I see. So you think the others were not involved in the original crime? I think at least the brother was involved. His rap sheet is even longer than Daron's.

It was reported in the early days after the murders that the family had an extensive art collection, so I wouldn't be surprised if they took some of it and were hauling it around in that box car.

Yeah wint comes across as someone who is a lover of the arts. He probably hangs out at the Phillips collection when he isn't murdering children.

Omg do you people not understand that when homes in wealthy neighborhoods are targeted for being just such it's not completely insane to think that the people who rob them would also take things like paintings and whatever else seems valuable? Especially in a situation like this one where they spent a whole night and following morning trying to make Savvas to give them cash, I wouldn't be surprised if he told them to take their valuables in exchange for letting them go.

No, she wasn't. The NYPD tracked her down by the GPS on her phone and found her at a restaurant in NYC and took her into custody for questioning earlier yesterday.

I keep reading speculation that the person(s) who did this must have been fairly knowledgeable about the family's daily routines. I also keep reading comments that this was just a thug(s) who thought he could get some quick money, and that there was not a more complex, sinister motive. If all that is true, why would the perpetrators strike on a day when the young boy was home from school? Why would they torture him?

If my only goal was to get money, I'd wait until everyone was out of the way, except the father. Why go in to the home when there were 4 people present?

I think there's more going on here than just getting money.

There is a pretty big spectrum to what 'familiar with daily routines' mean. I think that what people generally are using it to mean is that the perps knew SS worked during the day. I don't think it was meant to imply that they would or could know if the son would be home from school or what AS did all day. It's quite possible these idiots relaly didn't expect this to be a hostage/extortion attempt - they may well have thought that there would be a lot of cash in the house and that it was really meant to be a robbery.

Yes, but he was kicked out of boot camp and never became a marine.

Stupidity combined with a vicious, sadistic personality? How does that sound? Maybe hatred of SS because of the losses of his own and his relative's jobs. He's gotten away with multiple threats to commit violence and he escalated. He doesn't just want the money, he wants the act of terrorizing others. He wanted to watch them suffer and beg.

Yesterday when I checked out the sister's FB page I was able to locate the brother's page. His last post appeared on May 9. It was a post regarding martial arts.

Do you not understand that your suggestion is absurd? Thieves take what they can use, sell, or pawn. Do you honestly think Wint knows how to liquidate art?

I read that tens of thousands of dollars were discovered in the truck. I have always thought a woman was involved in this crime. Also I suspect they were partying at the house for hours, to assert dominion over the family. A woman may have been the ruse to initially gain entry. It's like these creatures were making some kind of statement.

Does anyone think one of them will get off if he grasses out the others?

How would the killers have known when the father would be home alone? there's no way in hell they have the level of sophistication to have put the family under surveillance to know that.

Or already spent on drugs and bling.

This just makes my stomach turn. You are probably right. These poor people suffered tremendously and this animal didn't have any compassion.
