2021 VA Governors race

Anonymous
Why are people brow-beating each other when we’re simply sharing our own plans.

I find McAuliffe to be a giant phony whose transparent hypocrisy undermines public confidence in the political process as much as inflated claims on the R side about election fraud. He panders to the far left because he’s so freaking rich and insulated that he knows it won’t affect his family at all. Won’t vote for him in the primary and won’t vote for him in the general election unless Youngkin suddenly morphs into Amanda Chase.

You can vote for the bagman if you want.

It was all over the place with regards to the Presidential election. And yes we had a crap option or Trump.

Every election now is Bad vs Worse. Our country has completely gone down the tubes.

I held my nose to vote for Biden but it’s not happening again beyond that.

There needs to be checks and balances, there needs to be diversity of thought, there needs to be balance. It’s never going to be a perfect balance, but there needs to be some balance. Going too far on either side brings out the crazies.

There’s a pretty diverse slate of candidates for the Virginia Democratic nomination and everyone but my mother ran as a D for President. There are lots of options.

They are all to the left of Stalin

So vote for the candidate endorsed by the actual would be dictator.

Quit the theatrics with the ‘would be’ nonsense.

Trump is out. Move on.

We don’t need be constantly bombarded with this rhetoric that voting off the party line is some sort of treason and automatically brands us as Trumpers.

Keeping up this hysteria will only guarantee a Republican president next go around.

“Quit the theatrics”? That’s rich coming from the party of “they are all to the left of Stalin”.

If you support a Trumpy candidate (inexperienced businessman, “election integrity!”, Trump endorsement), be prepared for Trump comments. Has he denounced Trump or the insurrection like the Rs with a backbone? Nope.

You are an adult responsible for your own actions. If you vote GOP you only have yourself to blame. Grow a pair and own it.

That was a different poster.

Yes, I’m a grown ass adult. I’ve voted in many elections, lived through 8 presidents, and in 2 states under Republican and Democratic governors.

I’ve also learned that no one person is ever going to be perfect.

And that being pragmatic and realistic and thinking individually is always better than just following the crowd.

Telling me to grow a pair is childish. I own my thoughts, I own my opinions, and I own my vote.

Funny how you didn't comment on the "left of Stalin" theatrics...

If "thinking independently" brought you to Youngkin/Trump positions, then don't be surprised about Trump comments. Trump is still at play. Why the GOP hasn't dropped him I will never know, but he's still a key player and it's disingenuous of you to say "he's out".

If Mack dumps Quarni, that would help but it’s not gonna happen.

Why wouldn’t a different governor put a new team in place?

Qarni will be out no matter which candidate wins.

I like McClellan but not sure if she could beat Terry. McClellan and youngkin would be my top 2.

Same here, and I will vote for her in the D primary, but McAuliffe is acting like he's already won the primary and Carroll Foy is going out of her way now to dismiss McClellan.

Quite honestly it's a shame Carroll Foy, who hasn't remotely put in the hard work to merit a nomination, is going to split the vote among the Ds who want someone other than McAuliffe. Expect Youngkin will end up pulling this off and hope he turns out to be a pragmatic centrist as Governor.

How exactly is a Trump endorsed Republican going to become a pragmatic centrist?

By surrounding himself with others from Virginia, not Mar-A-Lago.

President Trump is a pragmatic centrist. Only those on the far right and left can’t see it.

Those two are my picks as well. I get a lot of text from Democratic candidates asking me if I will vote for them and if I had questions. I asked them all if they support CRT in schools and the new math pathways and I never hear back from them. 😆

Terry McAuliffe has all sorts of nicknames. T-Mack, the Mack, etc.

It’s referring to him.

I hope this is true. I don’t want to vote for Youngkin but so annoyed at VDOE right now.
