So who here went to the ballet coronavirus party?

A generous donation to the CDC? Volunteering at Jose Andres' World Central Kitchen? Providing meals to nurses and doctors at Sibley?

Let's hope that public relations firm helps her choose in a more timely manner than it took to issue her lackluster apology.

Actually it doesn't look like it was just one mistake. She likely is responsible for several superspreading events in June and time will tell if she is responsible for deaths in July and August.

If unpleasant people like this are the life of these parties, why are so many people wanting to be their friends and be a part of that "scene?"

Because they’re rich.

It is lifestyle porn that appeals to a good deal of women, add in the Instagram porn people who just love looking at pretty people doing pretty things and there you have it. I don't get it.

It sounds like instagram industrializes harm to people's self-esteem in instances like this. I wonder if this keeps up into the new decade or not.

I am betting that she is more upset that she got caught and i'm also willing to guess that she is enjoying all of this press - even if she genuinely is sad that people caught it from her.
Why she did not have a PR team craft a better response is interesting!

This press is going to be terrible. Every times she arrives at Chevy Chase Club, Millie's etc people will be whispering that there is the woman who threw the coronavirus party. She will be getting looks of disapproving recognition for a long time from people who previously had no clue who she was. This will come up on Google searches for years.

I don’t think so. The rich protect their own. She will need to lie low for the next few months but then everything will be fine. I do wonder if she is not very smart. I heard from a friend about her backyard camp and there was no attempt at social distancing. Kids were in and out of the house. No one was wearing masks not even the camp counselors

Yikes, those camp counselors probably went on to do other camps the following week etc.

Oh please, we do not have "society pages." We do not have "socialites." We do not have a fundraising "scene." Anyone can buy a ticket to a fundraising party and become a donor to whatever organizations they choose. You can even give the money without going to the party. It's a transaction, and it's not attached to any sort of meaningful social cache. This is not Gilded Age New York. People in Washington have always and will always be more interested in political/media power. THAT's the "scene" here.

This whole story was fun for a minute but now it's just making me miss Louise Linton.

Heard some of the friends who were at the dinner were also at her camp. So some of the friends were already infected and probably shedding Covid at the party also.

I wish that were so. Are you not a NW DC private school mom? Trust me, there is a very hefty, very exclusive and ugly social scene.

It was two weeks of backyard camp, right? And her business partner, who tested positive, send her kids to the backyard camp?

And both her business partner's family AND her family illegally traveled to Florida for memorial day weekend?
