Well, now there is an UnAmerican disgusting tag line if ever we saw one. |
There was a lawsuit that undid what Trump had established in his term. Biden was not able to use the same tools. Again, you don't care about that, you would have preferred Biden break the law like Trump is now rather than just pass a damned law that would have fixed all of this. |
Sorry, no, you don't get to rewrite history. Everyone with a brain knows better. |
Go read United State versus Arizona. You keep repeating these things with such certainty and it does you a disservice. |
Sorry MAGA breath. Anyone with at least half a brain knows I'm right on this. Immigration/border security was the one issue Trump could have held a more favorable legacy on than Biden but his chaotic deportation tactics spoiled any advantage he could have had in that regard. Trump will be remembered just as poorly as Biden will be when it comes to our immigration policy failures. |
He deliberately refused to control the flow. If he or Harris had won on 2024, the next move would've been mass amnesty of those millions for sure. |
No, he did not deliberately refuse to control the flow. That is a right wing BS talking point. He didn't have the same tools Trump had because they were struck down in court. The fix is legislative and there was a deal on the table that gave the GOP 80% of what it wanted. Both Biden and Harris said they would sign it. Trump never said he would. He doesn't want a fox that solves the problem. He prefers storm troopers and the suspension of due process for ALL AMERICANS as well as anyone else, despite the plain words in the US Constitution. |
+1 |
Biden could have used executive orders in the same manner as any other POTUS would have to control the flow of migrants crossing the border. That's what needed to be done until Congress got their act together with formal legislation. EOs should be last resort but when they're absolutely necessary, there should be no hesitation. Biden is gone now and his immigration failures are no longer a Dem political problem. Any failures going forward are on Trump until 2029. |
It is, and I’d gladly trade citizenship for hard working immigrants if we could deport maga chuds like that in trade. The sad part is they probably have kids. It’s dragging the country down. |
Biden definitely refused to control it. Within weeks of January 2025, the border numbers are down 94% without a single new law being passed. When you let people know you are serious about security, they listen. Biden and all Democrats essentially say that they care about border security and then turn the other way with a proverbial wink and let in millons flow across the border. You are mixing issues. There is no due process suspended for Americans at the border. |
The overwhelming amounts of asylum seekers crossing the border in 2021 and 2022 can fairly be blamed on Biden as he did next to nothing to help the situation. The 2023 legislation would have helped to some degree so Trump and the GOP can fairly be blamed for border issues in part of 2023 and 2024. |
You are not getting it. Trump used executive orders, and it was challenged in court and the US/Executive Branch lost. So no, Biden couldn't do that, he needed the Congress to act and they didn't because Trump told them not to. Now, Trump is acting illegally, but you are totally fine with it. |
And despite that, Bidem got the border to 2019 levels, you know, pre-COVID when Trump was president. |
You are not paying attention. |
