It really is the coaches that make all the difference. Maybe that’s why this thread is all over the place. Lots of good coaches left this year.
Who were the good coaches who left and where did they go? |
ST, SA, BL to Herndon and Valor
RP also landed at Herndon, apparently. Not sure where KB went to.
Lee Mt. Vernon as the new TD
Did your DD go to other travel team or just decide to stop entirely? I am not seeing how to manage travel and HS AP load. |
No player is treated fairly unless they are doing privates at $100+ per hour. It’s disgusting. I know many who have left for this reason.
We’re at GFR and are not doing privates at $100/hr and are being treated fairly so it does happen.
No, it doesn’t. |
I can’t speak to anyone’s experience but ours, but, yes, it does.
What a crock. Favoritism runs deep here. I see it all the time, players getting playing time because they pay the $100 training.
GD is notorious for this. You can be the worst player on the team and still play lots of time in every game as long as you're training with him privately.
That has not been our experience on the boys side, but would drive me crazy if it were!
We’re new to GFR this year at a younger age group and have been happy with the coach. He runs good drills and seems thoughtful about practices and development of the team.
I think it's coach dependent, but also happy at GFR. Is playing time equal? No, but I don't see kids getting playing time that don't deserve it. Some coaches are more about the wins (looks good for them), others more about the kids, so you luck out when you get one that actually cares about development.
