Some of my (very liberal like me) friends are going bananas. They obviously acknowledge Barr's racist comments, but they think the show should have been salvaged since the cast, writers, crew, etc. didn't do anything wrong.

Here's my two cents: they knew who the star was IRL when they signed on for the show. This wasn't her first inappropriate tweet. Barr has a long history---including recent history---of horrific behavior. So, buyer beware, right?

Celebrity status and Hollywood paychecks are a gift, not a right. You win some, you lose some. Please don't ask me to throw a pity party for the wealthy actors, writers, directors, show runners, etc. Sure, some of the support crew aren't rich. But they can find other jobs (just like the rest of the world when companies downsize).

And please don't liken this situation to Archie Bunker and All in the Family (like some are doing on social media). Guess what? There's a big difference between the actions of tv characters and people IRL. Archie was a tv character. IRL, the actor who played him was a decent guy. IRL, Roseanne Barr is a loudmouth jerk (at best), or a crazy racist.
