2). No, this is legitimately weird. Either it’s a simple explanation and they are really dropping the ball with a decent explanation or there’s some hinky sit happening. The PP you quoted had a decent list of concerns and way upthread I said that Betty Ford dealt with breast cancer back when saying “cancer” was considered gauche by many; she took it in stride and publicized it to an extent. I mean when Reagan was shot we weren’t told the actual extent of it, but we still got a true story as what happened (of course, his assassination attempt was public so there wasn’t a lot of room to lie). 22 days out of the public eye for a procedure most people have done as an outpatient. I know they get the Cadillac of medical care, but come on.

No it's quite normal. Leaders and first ladies appear in public frequently. There's a reason they do that. If they don't appear, people start speculating. Always.

A few years Kim Jung Un didn't appear in public for a month. There was all kinds of rumor and speculation. Turned out he had foot surgery. Of course they could just said that, and let him show up with a cast or whatever, but that would ruin his image, so they waited until he was mostly healed before letting him llimp out again.

Same thing here. Whatever is going on, it something Trump doesn't want you to see because it would ruin his image or that of his trophy wife. So he'd rather people speculate than know the truth, whatever that is.
