So telling that some of you simply can't post without referring to AIPAC. |

I found this interesting: Susan Collins has never once missed a vote.
Americans hate Congress, often with good reason, but not all Members are scoundrels or social-media performance artists. So allow us to recognize Maine Sen. Susan Collins for casting what later this week will be her 10,000th vote in a row. As we write this on Wednesday, the five-term Republican had cast 9,982 consecutive votes without missing a roll call since she took office in January 1997. That is an extraordinary record by any measure, and as far as we know it hasn’t been matched. https://www.wsj.com/opinion/susan-collins-hits-10-000-votes-in-a-row-9cc56052?st=oALKEx&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink |
DP. Israel is toxic. Both the left, independents and right wing now hate Israel. The campaign against this guy is another AIPAC astroturfing. Just like AIPAC dropping 14 million in a primary in Kentucky to defeating Massie. You think all that should be ignored. A foreign country directly interfering with the US election process is a okay with you! |
On the flip side, she hasn’t held a town hall in Maine for 30 years & hides from her constituents!! If you have thr time & money, she might meet with you in DC & then post about it on her facebook page. |
Did they note that she originally pledged to only serve two terms? |
She did say that, and she’s never denied it. But guess what? The VOTERS keep electing her! So obviously the majority of the Maine electorate who vote in senate elections are okay with her having broken that pledge and stuck around to give Maine a powerful voice in Congress as only a senior senator can do. |
I think you should speak for yourself and only yourself. There are plenty of people of all political stripes who don't "hate Israel." Oh - and who aren't one-issue obsessives. |
Sounds like she meets with constituents not only in DC, but also in Maine and on Zoom. Doesn't sound like hiding to me. Collins deferred to her press secretary Blake Kernen when asked about constituent requests for town halls. “She prefers smaller group meetings or Zooms, rather than holding town halls where very few people get to speak, and the level of civility is often not that high,” the spokesperson said. “These forums were also difficult for people who were more reserved or less comfortable speaking in public.” Kernan also said Collins individually meets with thousands of Mainers every year in her office and during events across the state. https://mainemorningstar.com/2025/06/05/eyeing-a-sixth-term-collins-facing-pressure-from-both-sides/ |
Until now apparently. |
And yet, Maine voters have continued to reelect her by wide margins. If they were dissatisfied with the job she's been doing, they wouldn't continue to elect her. |
Uh, OK, so SHE prefers, but what about what her constituents prefer? Most can’t afford to get to DC for a F2F. And I’ve literally never heard of her holding a zoom. I’m a constituent. She comes home for photo ops and probably 95% of comments to ANY post on her FB or IG are negative. Finally, what did you expect her PRESS SECRETARY to say?!? Give me a break. |
DP. WTF is this? Can anyone translate with maga? |
I don't "hate Israel," but I do think that the US should stop giving money and weapons to Israel after it has slaughtered the Palestinians in Gaza. That is genocide, and there is no excuse for it. I do not support the Israeli government because of this. I used to support Israel, but I cannot any more. |
DP. It's desperation. They are so afraid of Plattner. They will do anything they can to keep him from getting elected. |
