| Collins brought all this on herself by not having more spine to stand up against Trump. |
What in the world are you talking about? Collins doesn’t have a Republican challenger in the primary, it’s uncontested. She has always had a Democrat run against her, but has maintained strong support from moderates and even crossover voters because of her record as a so-called RINO, eschewing the most extreme Republican positions and frequently challenging Trump - I posted a Politico piece last page or two on how Trump criticized her voting record precisely because she has stood against him on many key initiatives, on some of his cabinet nominees, and by voting to convict him on the January 6th impeachment. Collins is one of the last New England moderate Republicans, a holdover from the Grand Old Party before it became the Gang of Pedophiles. This race isn’t going to be a Platner trounces Collins show. Bookmark this page and come back in November to concede I was correct. |

All Collins has to do in a debate when Platner asks for sympathy for all the stuff he’s said and done because he came back from war is to say, “I know a lot of brave young people who came back from war and none of them got Nazi tattoos, none of them said women deserved to be raped, none of them made fun of their fellow soldiers who died in combat,” followed by a few solemn “shame on you”s and it’s game, set, match.
This guy is toast. Bookmark this. All the stuff you see now is nothing compared to the allegations that the other side has and is holding. It’s so bad I’m starting to believe this guy is an actual MAGA plant who is being paid to sabotage Dems in Maine. |
Agreed- Dems seem to be blowing a real opportunity here. |
There was no other opportunity. Dems have run a mainstream boring unmemorable opponent against Collins a bunch of times and failed. He might fail too but it's not because there was some better opportunity for Dems. |
If the DNC and Schumer had gotten behind a younger Maine Democrat with a proven record of efficacy in office they might have had a chance. Instead they recruited Mills whose heart wasn’t really in it. Now they’re stuck with the porta potty pud puller rapist apologist who denigrates rural Mainers and his fellow servicemen’s sacrifices in combat while he glorifies pissing on the corpses of the enemy. Good luck to them in November. |
lol Graham Platner (D): 48% Susan Collins (R): 41% Undecided: 11% AIPAC is toxic. |
The voting undecided will make the difference. It has been said in political circles that true Independents make their final decision in and around July. |
Were you the same person who claimed Collins was up 11 points in the most recent poll but never provided any evidence? Or maybe that was a 2nd district polling, I can’t remember |
|
He never said women deserved to be raped.
Agree it’s too bad that some of the many strong Dem candidates for governor didn’t run against Graham. |
tL/DR |
Ultimately, that is the real lesson here. You cross AIPAC and they make it their mission to destroy you. Scary stuff. |
yup |
All Platner has to do in a debate is point out Susan Collins is why Roe v Wade was overturned. Look, I don’t care for the guy personally but his politics aligned with mine. And if they align with enough Mainers he will be their next Senator. |
DP. You are incredibly defensive whenever someone dares to point out that Platner is a bad bet. Someone recently posted a poll stating that Platner is up; however, that same poll mentioned that 11% of voters were still undecided. So we'll see how this goes. I'm betting Collins will win. |
