So if you were alive in the late 1930s in Germany you would agree with Hitler? |
You know you have won the argument when the Dems bring up Hitler, it’s their desperation move after all their other meaningless insults. |
Sorry, when you start imprisoning green card holders and US citizens for their political views, you are a Nazi. |
Godwin himself said his law no longer applies in the era of MAGA. New law: you’ve won the argument when MAGA can’t convincingly explain why their policies which follow the Nazi playbook very closely cannot be compared to the Nazi playbook. |
Typical maga response. Maybe you should brush up on history. You may learn something. |
I think many people here who grew up in that world would have agreed with Hitler. In fact, if you don't have a theory of the mind for why people today would have supported Hitler, you're probably one of the ones who would have done so. |
Yes, but if you can't explain why the Nazi playbook was supported and why it would be supported again today, you're not winning--you're just making a comparison without understanding it. Nazis were bad because they led to the destruction of their people and nation. I'm not a Nazi apologist, but they rose in response to some real political failings. I don't want them to rise here, but I understand the younger generations will find those ideas appealing due to different, but related, political failings. |
Omg, right?! Stupid Democrats with all their fancy book learnin’ in history and such! Should be against the law! |
Continuing to demean and dehumanize groups of people like Trump is doing now typically does not end well. |
Yes, but you don't complain about the dehumanization of MAGA supporters. You're fine with dehumanizing people you don't like. That's fine, but it means your point about dehumanization is insincere. |
DP. DOGE was literally the brainchild of a visa overstay. |
You’re both silly. can’t you see how deporting people without proper vetting is harmful? And can’t you see how allowing undocumented people to stay in the country leads to human abuse and exploitation? IF you can only see one side degrading life in America, you are the problem. |
You denigrate the millions of Nazi victims by even remotely equating Trump policies with Hitler. You also shutoff any useful dialogue on current policy with this hyperbolic name calling. And, it’s very unlikely Dems get a clean sweep in the next election(s), so you might want to consider a different tack, assuming you actually want to see some progress in the future. |
This. Supporting the R isn’t going to course correct on this matter. They’ve never truly supported globalization. Building *everything* in the USA will be costly since most supply chains are fragmented and outsourced to global suppliers directly. Requiring certain non-negotiables related to our security, medical, weapons systems, etc. to be manufactured here? Yes, I see and appreciate the argument for it. However, we still need international diplomacy along the way - which is NOT happening right now. I hope more people skew left even if only for policy and economic strength. We need to correct the imbalance. |
I’d say right now that temperatures are so hot that Democrats need to not fight so loudly for the social underdogs this term, but instead the economic underdogs. Give examples of collective action that will be taken that appeal to everyone who has suffered economically.
Also, reframe immigration platform to distinguish from legal immigrants and illegal immigrants. Be specific in where you stand. Let specificity become more localized in various parts of the country where it is appealing to the voter base. Finally, always speak in layman’s terms first. Then subsequently add intellectual rigor in concise digestible statements that are easy L talking points voters can reiterate. Dumb.it.down. for people. Orange is the new black. Time to flip the script already. Once we are in office again we can do the rest. - Independent that would never vote for Musk or anyone tied to the current administration |
