I don’t know a single post-menopausal woman who would want the state deciding this if it was their daughter who was raped and pregnant— I know plenty of Catholics and I think some of them might even carry that baby but to pretend they know the answer for everyone? No

Surely you aren’t that dense. Their point is that in another elections cycle that didn’t include the guy who installed 3 justices who overturned Roe v Wade one or more of those 3 may have voted for a republican candidate but in 2024 - they see this one issue as taking constitutional rights from half the population and that is making them vote as a block for the democratic candidate.

I can’t imagine raising a daughter who is voting for a man who said he has the right to grab a woman by the p***y. I am so proud that my two daughters know that all of his words and behaviors are unacceptable. He’s been convicted of sexual assault. He cheated on his wife while she was pregnant. He will “take care of women whether they like it or not.” My daughters know to stay away from men like that. And they certainly wouldn’t vote for such a man to be elected as a leader.

Yes, and it’s about providing access to health care for women in general. My mother in her eighties had trouble filling her Rx for methotrexate. She takes it for arthritis, not to induce an abortion. Maybe they thought she was going to sell it. Well, she’s just as fired up to vote for Harris as she was for the first time she voted in the 1950s.

Surely you aren’t that dense. Their attempted point was that this is the defining issue for women to the point of generational shifts. The data doesn’t support this. Most voters list their primary voting issues as immigration and the economy including inflation. In some polls abortion didn’t even make the top ten. As passionately as some women like this Jess are about abortion, they do not speak for all, not even the post menopausal ones. They speak only for themselves with the hope that their opinions will be shared.
