Yep

Richmond is not a top LAC. I’m sorry. It’s not.

You find it "strange" that your kid didn't get in.

Who is this person who keeps posting “sorry your kid didn’t get in.” Seems like Richmond defenders get their jollies thinking that their school is somehow exclusive. Only for the right kind of people. Kind of like a whites only country club.

Probably someone from the Richmond admissions office.

According to US News and Niche, it’s top 18-22.

Which one of these is NOT like the others … Bowdoin, Bates, Wesleyan, Davidson, W&L, Vassar, Colgate, Carleton, Grinnell, Kenyon, Middlebury, Hamilton ….. UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND. Seems obvious.

Agree. Richmond more like a Bucknell. Or a Villanova. Or an Elon. It’s not an elite LAC.

Being like Bucknell and Villanova isn't a bad thing. Those schools have fantastic Wall Street outcomes. Much better than most of the other schools listed by the PP. And give me a break, Richmond is nothing like Elon, unless you're talking about Elon Musk, as the school produces a ton of MOTUs and BSDs.

Sounds like high schoolers have found this thread.

We had a similar experience. Campus felt very segregated. My son has a lot of white friends and he doesn’t see race as this huge thing. He goes to a school where the black and white kids hang out and party together. Wants a school more like his high school.

Rich kids from NJ/NY/PA cosplaying as Southern.

Kids aren’t from the south but, gosh, the school feels really southern. I think k this post explains it.

UR has always been like this. I don’t see it changing anytime soon.
