Again, with all due respect to the good lacrosse players that will find a home somewhere, there are not 12 Capital-level players on Stars. Or Pride. Some from each plus others, including ones currently playing for MD teams will comprise CLC Blue.

Yes to this. The best chance at a competitive team is a make up of 6, max from stars, 8-10 from Pride and 5 from MD teams or Richmond or random unknown.

I agree with this statement. And if this happens, these girls will compete very well

I do not agree with this. The Capital Blue 2028 team will be competitive regardless of whether any MD players decide to jump ship. It might be more competitive if one or two of the better players were to leave but I am tired of the idea that local talent cannot compete with these girls.

Typically, they can. But at this grad year several local girls left early on depleting the local capital pool. Hero’s alone has 5 and is top 3 in the country. If you don’t think having those girls back at Capital next year would be a benefit, you are delusional or you just want your daughter to make the team instead.

The DMV girls on the MD teams are not the top players on those teams is my point. Get over trying to wish them back.

Have you watched Hero’s play? You are mistaken

Hero’s best player is off the charts good. And she is not a local girl. The DMV girls on that team are solid players but not standouts.

Yes, solid players that would improve the Cap 28 team. They don’t have to be the top 3 on the team to be able to make a better capital team.

Not a given that they would all make Blue.

This is laughable. These 5 Moco girls all just tried out for, and made, Hero’s green who is 3rd the country. To insinuate they may not make Blue is inane.

They would be very happy at Capital.

I have on good authority that zero Hero’s players are trying out for Capital.

Thank God

Why? Honest question.

That's too bad. Would be ideal to have the best on Capital.

The best are on Coppermine and Eagle Stix

Let me be more specific since we have a smart guy here.

Would be ideal to have the best players in the DC/MD/VA area, within rational commuting distance for Capital, all try out and seek to play for Capital 2028s because that would create the best team.

I am not sure why anyone disputes this. Past, successful, capital teams have been made up of BLC, NL, YJ south and other off brand teams like cardinal and metro. Capital doesn’t have the resource of time to develop girls since they don’t have a middle school time. They rely on the top talent coming out and their strength is getting them to gel and perform in a short amount of time. The 2028 class is no different. They will be best if the girls from a commutable distance come to tryout this summer. This means girls leaving current Maryland teams to come back to Capital. With Capital’s solid recruiting track record and reputation, it isn’t a stretch for that to happen.

Pride 2028s went last year; enjoyed the tournament. No info shared on why not attending this year. I will note that smaller roster size can make it feel unfair as full team doesn't get to go.

So only some girls were selected to go? It is my understanding that most teams just bring full roster with knowledge that playing time will be somewhat more limited.

it does not make sense to have the whole team go given the smaller format. Who would want to spend the time and money to travel for minimal playing time?

I hope so. Would be great to keep local talent local.

What is the obsession with trying to goad parents from other teams into a fight?

Setting aside the possibility of a MD player trying out, is there any other non-Pride/Stars who could be an impact player on ‘28 Blue?

Probably the best chance of that would be from someone coming from YJ south. I don’t think there is anyone left on Metro, YJMA, BLC, Madlax, Pride Loudon, True VA or NL that would be an impact player. There is always the off chance that someone started playing late and is a tremendous athlete but just hasn’t started club yet.

Let’s be honest, parents only want their kid to get recruited to the best place possible (that means different things to different people). Parents want their girls to be on the best team they can make, so their resume looks as good as it can. If all you cared about was a good experience to help them develop into great people, you would not be posting in the 28 forum. Remember, you’re all psychos.

You must not be a 28 parent. That post had zero toxicity.

Or maybe it was just a very self-aware ‘28 parent?
