Officers made contact with the driver and Perkins, who was a passenger in the Chevrolet. Perkins initially provided a false name to officers in attempt to avoid prosecution. People are quite capable of caring about two things simultaneously. We can see the positives of our local police department while - at the same time - disapprove of inappropriate police behavior.

We have a good department, one that has been held to higher standards than most national departments for decades. Are they perfect? Of course not. Nobody is saying that they are. You just aren't going to hear many people decide to hate all police because of the actions of the very few.
