5-11 Vaccine appointments thread

There are a gazillion kid vaccine appts at Rite Aid in Baltimore. There are clinics by the health department which have appts. Why can't people find them? Or are you hoping to get your kid vaccinated by the end of the week?

No, there are not appointments at CVS, but there are plenty of appointments and/or walk-in clinics in DC and VA over the next two weeks. Drive into DC and you can have it done by Wednesday. My preference would have been the pharmacy where I got my vaccines, but since that wasn't available we are doing what is. Just because it's not your preference or most convenient doesn't mean it's not widely available.

Yes, I think this is it. They want to go to their nearest pharmacy of choice and get it done before their friends. They don't want to wait in line at a walk-in clinic or drive more than 5 minutes down the road. The frustration last year at the adult roll out was legit, but this is just hand wringing for the sake of hand wringing.

There are currently about a thousand (A THOUSAND) daytime slots on Tuesday at Fairfax Co Government Center. That's open to anyone, not just Fairfax residents. If you care THAT much, pull your kid out of school and take them on Tuesday. Or take them to Baltimore if that's easier. There are options.

oh, yeah, sure *exactly* like spring 2021. Weekend and Evening appts available well into mid December but nothing during the day, this week and close to your home or Target. What a shame.

Can you attach a link? I’m looking at what I think is the site abs I don’t see any appointments, let alone “thousands”. I’m assuming I’m checking the wrong site so any help appreciated.

DC has updated info (including hours) for their various walk-up clinic sites, through 11/20.

Where are people getting it in DC? Saw DCJCC is full. Can't figure out how to get in line at other pop-up sites. No Walgreens near me with availability. Are they all full? Or not released yet?

MoCo is inept.

No one should have to drive 45 minutes....you can do better than this. What's your zip, we'll help you.

45 min away was the only place I could get an evening appointment. It's hard for me to take time off next week.

Did you check the Tyson's clinic when they opened that up? Open until 7:35.

I clicked on this link. All of the Pfizer appointments cite 12+. I'm not seeing anything for kids younger than that being made available.

I searched through VAMS. Put in your zip code and expand the search radius as far as you need (or just put in the location zip 22035) and click through until it gives you the appointment options. The Fairfax Gov Center is nice because it's right off 66, so an easier drive even if a further distance (especially if you go in the middle of the day).

It's a walk-up clinic. You just show up and get in line when you arrive, like the fire station COVID test sites they've been doing. I would expect lines around the block for the first few (like at the test sites), but if you're willing to wait a week or drive to Wards 7 or 8, I bet the wait will be much shorter.
