You are suggesting Wint has already called this guy to represent him in this murder case? Between last night and this morning? Or do you think Wint has him on retainer? I don't think so.

About 15 minutes ago Ficker said on CNN that he has not been retained to represent Wint and seemed to suggest that family couldn't afford him. Wint is supposed to be in court at 1:00 and Ficker said he expected a public defender would represent Wint.

Wait - the brother was driving a box truck, which someone here posted was a Fed Ex truck. Could that be how they got entry to the house? Parked out front, walked up with a box and said there was a delivey to sign for?

Keep waiting for a bolt of lightening to strike down Ficker, or at least for his tongue to turn into a snake.
Anonymous
It wasn't a Fed Ex truck. Amerit -- looks like a rental box truck.
Anonymous
OK - but even with a rental box truck - saying there is a delivey and parking out front. Flowers, package, whatever.

How dare he say "the pizza crust was found outside and the murder took place inside the home"

All he keeps saying is Daron has no convictions. He desperately wants camera time. I'm turning.

I saw him on Megyn Kelly last night and can’t believe what a joke he is.
Yes, people have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, but to call him a “nice guy” and to pretty much deny other crimes this scumbag has committed is over the top.
He gives lawyers a bad name.

"Ficker" means "f***er" in German. The name definitely fits this motherf***er. This is why people hate criminal defense lawyers - I know that our judicial system requires it, but it's sickening that this animal who tortured and burned a 10 year old will have someone fighting for his acquittal.

He's not an animal. He's doing his job. Defense attorneys are just as important as prosecutors, Nancy Grace.

Oh Jesus. You're not the brightest, huh? Unless he has already been hired by Wint, it is not his job to talk about what a great Wint is on the television.

Some news outlets refer to him as Wint's attorney, as in the present tense. He's not his defense attorney?

I am not suggesting either, just telling you what I've read. It is possible to call an attorney from jail, even at midnight, but I'm not claiming to know if that's what happened.

Let's drop the act: This guy isn't doing his duty as the murderer's defense attorney. He is just some gross fame whore.

In DC, it's quite the opposite. You get jurors who refuse to "judge" defendants for serious crimes and/or engage in jury nullification. No doubt this thug's lawyers will be noting the overwhelming police effort to get this poor black male.

I've sat on a DC jury, and can tell you that this is simply not true.

They appear to be conscientious, good people, and this has got to be unbelievably devastating for them. Also, I saw an interview of several of the parents' neighbors. They live in a nice, quiet, suburban neighborhood. Full of leafy trees, people walking dogs. How terrible to have such evil in your midst.

He could be a great guy, and it just so happens that his older children all turned out to be criminal sociopaths. Seems unlikely though.

1. Thank God for Law Enforcement! In an age where police work is sadly becoming highly politicized, I'm glad these individuals were apprehended safely, although I doubt there would've been rioting if any of them had been hurt.
2. Be careful whom you associate with and whom you hire. People with a criminal record and multiple arrests and convictions for violent behavior are not choir boys. Be careful. Although nobody ever saw this coming, there are people out there who are criminally insane and integrated into our free society, who should be institutionalized or locked up for prior offenses.
3. The Daily Mail tabloid in London had more scoops and better coverage than any U.S. news outlets. Check out their website. We should be ashamed.
4. Robin Ficker is a disgrace and a publicity hog.
5. For torturing a child to death, this animal will receive the same fate in prison.

The reporters who work for publications like the Daily Mail and the Daily News in NY know how to work a crime story. Papers like the NYT or the Post tend to hire well-credentialed young reporters from elite schools who want to be the next Bob Woodward. (It used to be that the Post hired more reporters who first had cut their teeth on local stories on papers like the Miami Herald.) An editor at the Harvard Crimson doesn't exactly know his/her way around the police beat or night court.

Can you explain this a little more? I have always wondered why the Daily Mail always seems to have more details faster than US papers. (They had all the dirt almost instantly on the Duggar molestation case as well).

Daily Mail says arrestees were: Wint, his brother, two women, and two other men.

You really. Should stop talking about Ficker. You should be careful. You really should stop.

Ding ding ding! It is Ficker's job to talk about what a great guy Wint is on the television, because his primary job is famewhore, and that is what famewhores do.

This is a pretty interesting look at working for the daily mail on the US side:

^^by that I mean saying he's "crazy". The other stuff is certainly true and provable, but saying he's mentally unstable is going to far.

I've sat on four juries in DC (and one Federal). In all four cases we had at least one juror hold out who either 1) wouldn't convict a "brother", 2) felt like the cops were out to get this one person, or 3) so strung out on drugs that they couldn't really interact with the rest of us.

It was a disgrace.
