| I mean they have a losing record and have only played southern teams. I think a new way of seeding states could/should happen. Teams like Oakton, Langley, Westfield are teams that I believe should be granted an opportunity over a team that basically now gives Robinson a first round bye. Deep Run moving to 5A has ruined the whole south and now it creates situations like this one. I think the 4 region winners should get an automatic bid into the tournament, than the last 4 are picked by some type of committee. I know, that will create a whole different discussion and have this forum going absolutely ballistic about how its rigged and such, but it will fix the bigger issue of a 4-8 team playing in June. |
Pretty sure the coach did not tell them to take the ball outside the box or slash on the break. I assume everyone on here has like a 16-18 year old son - please let us know if yours does every you ask him to exactly as you ask every time. |
We have multiple Einsteins online tonight. The masterclass was holding Yorktown to 7. Madison’s talent is good, but coaching takes them to the level they can shut down elite offenses again and again. But yes, let’s ignore that and focus on a couple of individual players mistakes! -Madison won a game where they were largely outgunned talent wise. That usually is a sign of good coaching. |
Well stated. If you can’t understand this your new to Class 6 lacrosse in NOVA or just plain ignorant. |
| I was shocked when YT had a chance to tie man up with something like 22 seconds left they didn't put the ball in the stick of their best player and instead started to run a play that required several passes, which resulted in a turnover and 3 never had a chance to win the game for them. I think I would have put my faith in that kid to create something with that low amount of time left. |
Agreed - YT had Madison’s number first half. Looks like Madison staff made adjustments at halftime |
Bring back the PowerPoint System from the 1990's. Only way the best teams have an opportunity to move forward, as opposed to what we have now in that the each Region gets "equal" numbers of teams. |
| Can Yt beat Indy? |
Yep. |
I think YT lucked out that they don't have to face Robo in the second round. Indy hasn't faced tough competition all year outside of Battlefield. |
Could they yes, will they no. I don’t see either region D team advancing. The only upset I can see in round 1 is WestPo over Cosby and that’s not guaranteed. Best game of the tournament may be Battlefield/ Robo in round 2. |
Again I keep hearing this. I have pointed out multiple times that Indy seems to have the hardest SOS based on Laxnumbers. Can someone explain this to me? The numbers say they had a harder schedule and the posts say different. |
You have to read the "Rating Math Key", importantly the Sportsmanship Differential. OP actual rating is 56 but has them on Indy's schedule as 88 as the same for all the other teams they beat by 10 plus. |
Agreed. And they were coming out of a timeout - weird thing to draw up (unless just botched execution). passed around horn bunch of times and never even got close to a shot. would have thought they'd be looking for couple quick passes, then create/shot (w/time for backup/2nd shot if needed). |
That there is the good coaching we keep hearing about |
