Most of our allies wisely won't touch our domestic issues. Russia is an outlier. They have little going for them so have no issues with being a global pariah.

Russia is not an ally.

I know. I meant Russia is an outlier in general. But my writing was not clear.

Thanks for clarifying. It’s hard to tell because there are many pro-Russia folks these days.

Democrats should have gone to court to enforce the subpoenas. But they did not want to do so because it would take too long or they might lose.

The judiciary is the third co-equal branch and is there to resolve such issues. Not availing of this option and then whining about obstruction is pathetic.

Nope. The GOP is abusing process and procedures and then turning around and crying when the democrats hit back. Too bad. No, the democrats should not have waited until Trump cheated his way back into the White while the issues worked their way through the courts. F that.

There will be no "crying". The Senate will decisively reject the obstruction of Congress charge - and rightly so. If the Democrats will not use the judiciary to enforce subpoenas, there is no "obstruction". That is how the system works.

Of course, we will hear endless whining by Democrats about how the Republicans in the Senate will not uphold their constitutional obligations etc. But it will not make one bit of difference.

What is more I expect 2-4 Democratic senators to vote against this article of impeachment - and more than likely all the Republican senators to do the same.

Is there anything that the Democrats don't f**k up?

You can see it as the Dems fcking things up. Or...

You can acknowledge it's not a level playing field when the Senate majority represents 44% of the country and is compromised by Russian money. They have rejected every check on this POTUS.

The contests for the White House are also not a level playing field. The GOP has managed to win ONE popular vote over the last 3 DECADES.

Tyranny of the minority.

If the electoral college is the problem then change the constitution. Stop whining about the popular vote: the presidency is decided by the electoral college.

As long as the electoral college is the basis for electing the president then the popular vote is irrelevant.

Nobody is whining. Just don’t be disingenuous about the state of our country and political parties.

I wish Trump would just resign his office and go back to stealing from charities.

Well, part of the make up of the Electoral College is based on in-state gerrymandering and manipulation of the census, so we can start there.

+1
Let’s see the song the GOP sings when the shoe moves to the other foot, as it eventually will. They’ll be screeching 24/7 about how unfair the Electoral college is and how the constitution needs to be changed. And with all the RWNJ judges Trump is installing it may well happen.

The country is doing incredibly well because the economy is doing great.

The entire thrust of the Democrats is to vote for their nominee because the alternative is Trump. It is not a winning message - it is what Hillary's pitch was in 2016. What do Democrats have to offer voters other than being opposed to Trump?

The stock market is doing great, but that is because of the tax cuts and key alterations in regulations that are boosting profits. That is not trickling down to the little guy, and family farms are being decimated.

Seems problematic for the President if these are the best numbers he can garner right now.

During the Clinton impeachment, Tom Daschle, Democrat, was the Senate Minority leader......

tells me just now: "My former staff reminded me this morning that while I was not in contact with the White House during the trial, they were. There was a need to coordinate on many levels. So I want to be sure that I didn't give you the wrong impression."

Even if all of the above is true, what are the Democrats offering other than higher taxes, more regulation, amnesty for illegals, free health insurance for illegals, eliminating the private health insurance for some pie in the sky medicare for all, reparations, etc. Now there's a winning agenda!!

Stop saying the economy is great if you want anyone to take you seriously.

You left out wage increases that are primarily benefiting lower level workers.

The recent jump in paychecks has come with an unusual characteristic, as workers at the lower end of the pay scale are getting the greater benefit.

Average hourly earnings rose 3.4 percent in February from the same period a year ago, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report last week. That’s the biggest gain since April 2009 and seventh month in a row that compensation has been 3 percent or better.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/03/13/workers-at-lower-end-of-pay-scale-getting-most-benefit-from-rising-wages.html

With the Democratic presidential campaign under way, get ready to hear a lot about economic inequality. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who’s surging in the polls, has complained about “a rigged system that props up the rich and the powerful and kicks dirt on everyone else.” In reality, the strongest economy in more than a decade is bringing benefits to everyday Americans.

According to an April study by the New York Federal Reserve, the average starting wage offer for full-time employees jumped from $58,035 in November to a series high of $66,415 in March. The average expected likelihood of receiving a job offer was also the highest recorded since the survey began in 2014—and the gain was “most pronounced for respondents without a college degree.”

The Bureau of Labor Statistics’ employment data have been reflecting significant income growth for working-class Americans for months. With more Americans working than at any time in history, the unemployment rate near a 50-year low, and 14 consecutive months with more job openings than unemployed people, for the first time in decades it’s harder to find blue-collar workers than white-collar ones. This competition for employees is driving wages up, which narrows income inequality.

Wages in May for nonsupervisory employees increased 3.4% year over year, the 10th consecutive month at or above 3%—after a stretch in which wage growth had been below 3% for every month since May 2009. The recent gains were even more significant for workers in traditional low-wage sectors. For retail workers, wages rose 3.8% in April, the 14th consecutive month at or above that rate (December’s 5.1% increase was the largest since 1998). For hotel and restaurant workers, the April increase was 4.7%, the eighth consecutive month at or above 4% (and March’s 4.7% increase was the largest since 2008).
