I am with PP here. I didn't follow the Kavanaugh hearings at all until this allegation came up. Mainly because I think how an SJC performs once he or she is on the court can be very unlike what one might have imagined at the confirmations. But the allegation piqued my interest. I was assaulted at college by a classmate a couple of decades ago and didn't report it to authorities. However, I immediately cut off all contact and mutual friends of the two of us knew why. I also have a male employee facing sexual harassment charges that I and a couple of other supervisors strongly believe are groundless. The accuser has a record of making false sexual assault reports but is persisting in pressing her case. When I first heard of the allegation I was inclined to believe her, but the details were so sketchy that I now believe her allegations are more like those against my male employee. I admit to being a poster on this thread who asks for cites and comes back with cites if what a poster is saying does not align the record as it stands. I am not a normal denizen of the Politics forum--mostly stick to Health and Gardening. |
Because, deep down, Trump is what this is all about. It is the #resistance in full panic mode. We can’t have Trump nominating another SCOTUS!! |
Yes, I've found that my posts that don't support the liberal opinion get deleted too, in a variety of threads. Reading threads, you'd think the liberal opinion was the majority one, but that's only because he's deleting opposing opinions. |
![]() Oh, and I rarely watch Fox News. Just about as rarely as I watch CNN. |
Unbelievable. Or rather, completely believable. Liberals can't stand it when someone who disagrees with them tells their own story. |
Yes, great mother you are, if your daughter was so tramatized and begged you not to force her to make a report you'd force her to. Good going. And when her accuser says no he didn't do it and no one believes your daughter, glad to know that you'd still be on the side of men who are publicly called out for their assaults. I'd bet you'd have been one of the high school students who didn't stick up for this girl. I feel sorry for your daughter. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/amber-wyatt-told-her-story-of-rape-this-is-how-the-world-responded/2018/09/21/ff11300a-bdda-11e8-8792-78719177250f_story.html?utm_term=.130d8da2989b |
This. Even she does not claim this. And, it is being spread around that is what she is alleging. FWIW, someone called into C-Span and said a "rapist" should not be on the Supreme Court. The "experts" responding to the comments never corrected the caller who was claiming that Kavanaugh had raped her. That's pretty irresponsible of them not to catch that--and says a lot about our media--even Cspan. |
God, you're weird. And obsessed. But not at all politically motivated. ![]() |
This is pathetic. And, people wonder why many of us don’t trust the media.......... |
Yes, and if I counseled her *not* to make a report, then you wackos would say what a terrible mother I was, not urging her to go to the police. There is no winning with irrational people like yourself. Of course I would urge her to make a report - any responsible parent would. And I already read that article. Wyatt was smart enough to make both a police and a medical report. She sounds much brighter than you. |

No one should trust Fox. Or Update America. |
Or CNN. Or MSNBC. |
But we should trust the NYT? |
This is the issue that is at the center of this for me. This could have happened last week, been a violent rape, Ford could have video and DNA evidence and it still wouldn’t matter to the GOP because for many of them, women. aren’t. people. (And I know there will be some goppers who have difficulty with this post, so I will say that very clearly: I am not suggesting that this happened last week, was a violent, or that she has video and DNA evidence. Just that it wouldn’t matter to you if it were the case. |
