I am a SAHM of 3 and addicted to coca cola! in a can only - no diet. I used to drink about one every day, then it became 2 and now it can sometimes be 3!
I drink it on my drive to schools, at home, during pickup etc. It's the only thing that makes me happy during my crazy nonstop exhausting day. It's not about the caffeine b/c I actually feel crazy tired around 1-2pm so I know its the sugar crash. I just love the taste and the burn down my throat. I really need to cut down. trying to see if I can just have 1 a day and go from there. I wont do diet coke as I feel it's just terrible for you. Any help, tips, advice on what to do? I also love Sbux once a day and then only drink water, which I also love, but have not been drinking as much as I used to since my coke consumption has been going up

| I was hoping for a more interesting type of coke |
|
This is me. I've quit so many times, I actually now drink an organic "healthy" soda that my husband buys for me when he realized I just couldn't break the habit.
It's really embarrassing as a 40 year old woman to be drinking soda. I don't even know what it is...I love me coke. |
| Thought you meant the other stuff... |
|
Another coke can addict here. I try to limit to one a day. Sometimes I make myself have a glass of water and then decide if I still want the coke.
Don't like bottles, love fountain though... |
| Maybe try buying the little cans? |

This routine helped me. I don't know why.
Fruit only for breakfast & OJ fortified w/Calcium A coke mid morning. Only 1 Healthy carbs/vegs for lunch Tiny (3.5 oz) individual serving size of high-quality ice cream for 3pm snack Protein/vegs for dinner. No calories for drinks (except your 1 coke) Full glasses of water on an empty stomach - very little to drink at meals. What you're trying to do is take-back your bodies ability to regulate your sugar-carb-coke cravings. This is roughly the fit-for-life diet plan w/some of my own modifications - I had to add in the ice cream. |

Op here! Little cans don't taste the same!
Also trying to lose 20pounds and I know it's not helping. Oh and wish I could share my private stories on the other coke! I was able to kill that 5 year addiction.... All pre-kids lol! |
Thanks! This is very helpful advice! |
You have an addictive personality and you may just have to embrace it--now that this type of coke is your vice versus the other type of coke, which is obviously more dangerous. So either accept it and enjoy your 2 cans a day Or Try and cut down, eat more protein and drink a ton of water to help Or Stop buying it and go cold turkey. Good luck! |
Can I ask how old you are? I feel like (at 40) it's just a lost cause. I've started to hide them in my office. I know...it sounds so silly. I never had an addiction to drugs, gave up smoking with no problem, but I am addicted to sugar (specifically soda). It's horrifying. Did this really work for you? I'm about 20lbs overweight ands probably all soda weight. |
Haha, this logic is hilarious, considering the 3 cans of calorie and sugar filled trash you are dumping down your esophagus each day. Maybe your next addiction will morph to the McDonalds Extra Value Meal with diet soda. |
Pp here... I just bought little cans too (because I didn't want to carry the big ones home) and I agree! They don't taste the same. Too sweet I think. |
| I quit diet coke cold turkey. I was drinking 6 a day. I waited until I had stomach flu because my taste buds were a little off and I wasn't craving it. I am so glad I quit. I'm sure I'm saving $3-$5 a day and I'm healthier. I do miss it though. |
| Do you need braces? I just got invisalign braces. You can only drink water 22 hours a day. Now I can only have a few sips of diet coke at meal times when the braces are off. They help with weight loss too because you only get two hours to do all of your eating and drinking. No mindless snacking! |
