And russia now falls to like #50 on global relevance. I bet maybe 100 out of 6000 nukes even work or could launch.

+1. Nearly three weeks and Ukraine is still standing. Putin is a foolish old man.

You underestimate Putin or the degree to which this war is about him and his legacy. He’s not going to back down and will become more vengeful to save face.

I admire Zelensky's bravery. But I wonder if, in the end, he will simply have to agree to roughly the same deal he could have obtained prior to the invasion.

It isn't just Putin who doesn't want Ukraine in NATO -- according to William Burns, it is virtually the entire Russian government.

They dont need to be in NATO. Get virtually the same benefits by being in the EU. It'd be a win win and is the obvious compromise that allows Russia to save face.

At this point not being in Nato and demilitarization as per putin means annihilation of Ukraine - If not in this war, then in a future war 5, 8 or 10 years down the road. It’s not a viable option for Ukraine and not worth fighting and the sacrifices it is now making.

WHy would the EU want Ukraine in it? To support another corrupt, broke country? This time the biggest one other than Russia in Europe?

Meanwhile at the Poland and Ukraine border. This is provoking Russia and we shouldn't be there.

Putin doesn't need any provocation. He has bombed hospitals, schools, apartments, and committed other war crimes.
Why are the US and other countries allowing Putin to set the rules of engagement and the timeline?
Why are world leaders so fearful of this maniac? It is time to stop fearing him and start getting a spine.

OMG! Why are you so eager for WWIII? Is the destruction of one country not good enough for you? Should we destroy all of European the world to make you happy?
If you are a Trumper, should you not be happy about no more wars rhetoric? After all, you praise Trump so much for it.

Actually, I am very much opposed to war. Bowing to Putin is what is causing war.
Yes, Putin has nuclear weapons. So do many of the NATO nations. We need to remind him of that.
Stop caving to his threats.

I know he will, *because* he is weak and foolish.

If loading equipment in a country that you are aligned with is “provoking” war then what is invading a sovereign nation with the staged intent of regime change?

Does the name Gerhard Schroeder mean anything to you? Talk about corruption leading the world to WWIII.

They are loading the weapons they committed to provide. Also, there is a major war at that border, NATO has the duty to reinforce it.

Uh ok. How do we do this?

Some of you ARE eager for a disastrous level of engagement. No, we should not do more as the US, and no, we should not set up anything like a no fly zone, and no, our soldiers shouldn’t be anywhere near border areas.

My hand to god- a lot of people want what they see as a “good” war, a “values” war, for their own sense of self and to have a force that gives them meaning from the safety of an American suburban den. It’s appalling. Tell me what your plan is that limits civilian deaths and avoids nuclear engagements.

Putin has stated for the past decade that Russia was opposed to Ukraine's entrance to NATO. But it isn't just Putin who feels this way -- it is virtually the entire Russian government. I suspect that what we are seeing now would have occurred even if Putin had died years ago and somebody else had taken his place.

Sorry. Too late. Our soldiers and soldiers from other NATO countries are on the border areas and will stay there.
Do some research on why they are there.

Way to not answer - and did I say they weren’t there? No, I did not. The reckless, grimy, angry push for kore, more, more that you have is an unbelievably foolish and reckless view. Oh well.

DP. Love how you ignored the last sentence so you wouldn’t have to acknowledge your ignorance of the substance.
