Hayfield Football Coach Fired

Anonymous
Could VHSL take action against FCPS as a whole, potentially barring its schools from participating next year, given the precedent set by the Hayfield lawsuit and allegations of not adhering to VHSL rules?

The Hayfield game is thus far without incident. No hard hits, clean play, and fair sportsmanship. Edison would rather be celebrating at a pizza banquet, but VHSL forces these under-0.500 teams into the playoffs as penance and retribution for another week of games.

LOL Hayfield can only beat up on week Virginia teams, the minute they go out of state they lose - to a weak MD team. A TX, FL, CA powerhouse would hang 100 on Hayfield.

thanks for the report (sincerely) - although not sure if I'd classify 75-0 halftime beatdown as "without incident"... the "incident" just took place in the pre-season....

Did the Edison kids vote to play or was it decided for them? Just curious.

Fair sportsmanship? The match was tainted before it began by Hayfield cheats.

West Pot or Fairfax? Who got next? Who got game?

I hope all your PW players stay healthy between now and then for the game next week!

Folks can say whatever they want, sure it doesn’t look good, but honestly what did you expect? These KiDS play for their coach. People trying to make Hayfield this incredible super tea, IF you know football, you know they are not. This is about execution of the plays called. Edison is simply NOT well coached, you cannot blame Hayfield for when they throw an interception, when they fumble a snap near the end zone or flat out missed tackles. The refs have called a pretty even game, they are definitely baiting some players to react, so let’s see how disciplined they truly are. Prime example is Edison cheered for blocking an extra point like they had scored. The game was over in the first quarter, tbh.

The main coach spearheading all this was Pannoni, and instead of preparing his team, he’s getting beat on pretty good himself. Could be karma or could be coaching. Guess we’ll see who’s next, seems to be Fairfax.

All in all security around field, no more than 50 Edison fans, probably 150 Hayfield fans including kids running around on Hayfield sidelines, on this chilly brisk night. No parent rants, nothing.

Where is the sportsmanship in running up a score 75-0 by half? Reid should step in and suspend a Coach just for that.

Too bad VHSL could not suspend Reid from post-season play as superintendent on this one.

In reality, they would just be at Freedom or somewhere else winning it all if they weren’t at Hayfield. It’s not like Hayfield had much before the outsiders came.

Lol you expect Edison to not cheer for blocking an extra point? That's somehow bad sportsmanship or something? Let them enjoy a good moment, dang.

They were in the playoffs already before this madness even started, but having two 3-7 teams in for another week of crucification would have been worse, just another team besides hayfield that hangs 60-70 on them

They won their district last year.
