If your kid was going to make and play on the first team and you are coming from elsewhere, you would have gotten an invite immediately after tryout 1.

If you don't mind having your kid play on a team where the coach favors his kid and overusing guest players then it shouldn't be an issue.

Why was he over using guest players? Were there just not enough players or did he use them (added)on top of his team roster?

Guest players for the third, developmental rec level team is ridiculous unless there were no subs.
