Can we make predictions what he's actually going to be indicted for?

I just do not believe that the feds would prosecute him over having sex - even paying for sex - with someone who is 17. It HAS to be more than that, right?

Was he acting as a pimp, do you think? Think it's going to be a campaign finance thing - he used campaign funds to pay for sex with a 17 year old?

What?? I could see that he might get away with just sleeping with a 17-year old, esp. if there was no employee/subordinate issue. But paying for a trafficked teenager? (--> because that's what she is!) I don't think that's what normal people think is a "petty" issue.

It doesn't matter how petty it is.

Illegal is illegal. Al Capone went to prison for tax evasion, not murdering hundreds of folks.

So are you guys saying you think that's all he's going to be indicted for? I am the PP and I'm not saying it's not gross or illegal, but that I would be surprised if that is ALL he goes down for - if he is actually going down. I think there has to be more.

He may only get indicted for this, even if he has done worse, because he cooperates and gives investigators bigger fish.

For PPs asking whether this fallout would trip up DeSantis:

“Gaetz recommended to DeSantis that Pirozzolo be nominated to serve as state surgeon general or on the Orlando airport oversight authority. Pirozzolo was appointed to that latter position.”

So to be clear: being out late at night, having a warrant out for your arrest, selling loosies and being suspected of having passed a counterfeit bill are all crimes worthy of the instant death penalty, but this POS doesn’t even have to step down? Someone released Katie Hill’s nudes and she had to step down.

Do any Republicans care about the rule of law, or are they just advocating openly for the Wild West now?

He doesn’t even have to pause overseeing the FBI and DOJ which are investigating him.

"Matt Gaetz Using Donors' Dollars on Legal Bills as Feds Investigate Possible Sex Trafficking" A south Florida TV station is reporting that Gaetz has spent more than $85k in campaign funds for defense attorneys since the investigation into his perverted activities began This is a violation of FEC rules. He can only use campaign funds for legal work related to his job in Congress; not defense for being a drug abusing sex offender.

How many stories end up getting retractions or are outright unprovable months after being written by either the WaPo or NYT, then getting picked up by locals?

The FBI had to get warrants to seize Gaetz and his ex girlfriend’s phones. They must have some reasonable suspicion. If you read the previous article Gaetz filed papers with the FEC showing how he spent some of his campaign funds. And it turns out the Trump campaign really did collude with Russia after years of calling it fake news.

More on Pirozzolo:
“As part of an ongoing probe into Gaetz, investigators are examining whether he engaged in a relationship with a girl that began when she was 17. In pursuing evidence of potential public corruption, sources tell CNN that investigators are also scrutinizing Gaetz's connections to medical marijuana, both in terms of legislation he's sponsored and his connections to people involved in the industry, searching for so-called pay-to-play arrangements.
Gaetz has a long history of advocating for medical marijuana and has introduced several pieces of legislation seeking to loosen laws regulating the drug, both as a state representative in Florida and as a member of Congress. A number of his close associates have ties to the industry, including Jason Pirozzolo, a Florida doctor who founded a medical marijuana advocacy group and has in past news coverage in Florida been described as a "marijuana investor." According to reports, Pirozzolo accompanied Gaetz on the 2018 trip to the Bahamas that investigators are scrutinizing.”

The whole GOP is a blackmailing crime syndicate. They are all compromised and kowtowing to team Trump.

It is time to blow it open and end the assault on our country.
