CCL just announced that barca, va fc, and fsci to their championship division

Va fc is valor??? Lmfaoooooooo

No va fc is Virginia fc

Share a link. I’ve never heard of that shytstain

https://www.vafcyouth.com/
Neither did I until they announced it

None of their teams are anything special

What teams?????? It’s the first time I’m seeing this. What leagues do they play! If they even playing

They play in virginia soccer league inc their best team is u13 they won their first round in state cup 10-1 against cville united fc

I know exactly who this team is. The play against a lot of other club's B-teams in VSL and yes they are from the Newport News area. They will get smoked by Alexandria next round in state cup. I will guess 12-0.
yeah if they lost to beach fc 9-0 I'm guessing at least 11 goals unless alexandria plays bad

So uh extremely upsetting in the state cup vafc beat alexandria 3-1

Not mls/red

Red IS their MLSnextvteam. White is the 2nd team that does President's cup.

They no longer play possession. They ling ball to the recent 2 big kids. It’s not like their team of yesteryear. They sold out and it doesn’t work.

On the MLS next schedule it says the game was postponed

Yes. So they could play in State Cup

Ya, it was penalties. Arlington's keeper played off his rocker. He stopped all three penalties Beach took. Two were upper 90 shots. Good on him.

That’s great.

This is why you play the games. U13. Alexandria out. Beach out. Skyline out. LVMSC out. All were higher seeds. I get it's not quite March Madness, but I like these kind of tournaments. I wish all VA teams would do this. So what if you're ECNL or CCL or MLS or NCSL. Just play.

Arlington 08 boys still have two teams in. Beach has a couple of boss players, but we played insane defense today. Our keeper came up huge in the shootout.

May 1, 2021; Alexandria VA - Virginia FC U13 Pre Academy continued its winning ways on Saturday with a convincing 3-1 win on the road at top seed Alexandria 08 Red. Coming off an opening round 10-1 win over Charlottesville United, the VAFC boys were confident and welcomed the challenge to prove their place in the prestigious 2021 Spring Virginia National Championship Cup. With the win VAFC will host Great Falls Reston GFR 08B Elite on Saturday, May 15th on the Peninsula.

The VAFC boys took control of the game right off the bat maintaining possession through midfielders Cameron Wizzard, Jackson Parker, Quinn Starling and Jayden Vasquez putting the Alexandria defense on their heels early and often. Defensive midfielder, CJ Banks opened the scoring after winning a ball 35 yards out, taking a touch and hitting a bending ball into the top corner at the 15 minute mark of the 1st half. Center forward Evan Burke pushed the lead to 2-0 ten minutes later after turning an Alexandria defender, driving across the top of the box and smashing in a well placed finish into the bottom right corner. "CJ is our glue guy that plays his role to a tee holding down the middle, winning the ball and connecting with our playmakers. It was great to see him picking his spot to penetrate forward and take responsibility to have a go on goal." says Coach Darcy "Evan does what Evan does with causing defenders constant issues by running at the back line and constantly looking to strike. He is a handful for teams to deal with and with great support and service from his teammates has 10 goals in the first two rounds of the state cup." VAFC continued to press and attack the Alexandria goal and keeper which turned away a number of late chances holding the score to 2-0 at the half.

The second half began much like the first before Alexandria found its rhythm pinning in the VAFC defense forcing VAFC captain Jake Nelson some work and goalkeeper Luke Cullison to make a couple key saves. "Luke didn't have to do much in the 1st half, but was on point in the second half turning away crosses and shots keeping the two goal cushion. We knew they would have to commit numbers forward as the second half progressed in an effort to pull back a goal and get back in to the game. The plan was to keep good numbers at the back and hit them on counters as their back line leaked out and they chased the game overall." At the 58th minute the ball beat around the VAFC box, popped out to an Alexandria player that put the ball away making the score 2-1. "To our players credit, they kept their composure and responded with finding Evan on a quick counter, a few minutes later, who again scored a great goal to put the game away." VAFC killed off the remaining 6 minutes with Nelson, Brody McHenry, Danny Cox, Nate Carney, Wizzard, and Banks locking down the Alexandria attack. Colin Parkinson, Jake Labib and Madden Francisco provided solid contributions to help secure the win and advance to the final 8 matchup with Great Falls Reston.

What happened to Alexandria 08 this year? They are all over the map and were such a good team in the past.

Congrats to these kids. This is better journalism than 90 percent of what I read in NYT or Washington Post. As an earlier poster said, this is why they actually play the games.

Labeled Alexandria Red in system but White team played. 100%. I was at game. Most of the Red team was at game watching.

Why would red players be there, but watching instead of playing?
