Well since Bullis, Prep and Landon have been breaking IAC rules for years it’s about time STA did too. Doubt they can get enough laxers who can handle the academics though. No excuses are made for athletes there. Too many dumb jocks in the lacrosse ranks.

This is what is wrong with STA. Their elitist, narcissistic attitude and self-aggrandizing behavior really turns a lot of people off. STA is a good academic school, but they aren't the only strong academic IAC school. They also don't have only super smart boys or hold the monopoly on smart boys. Don't kid yourself, there are some average and slightly above average boys at STA and there are TONS of very smart boys at other schools. Another flaw in your comment is that there are "too many dumb jocks in the lacrosse ranks". That's actually offensive to a lot of people. The majority of "jocks" in the IAC are actually very smart and could absolutely handle the academics at STA. STA's difficulty in recruiting strong athletes is not their academics, it's their community (which turns a lot of people off for various reasons) and their poor athletic record in many sports. An aspiring top college recruit is most likely not going to chose a school with a loosing record/reputation vs a school with a winning record/reputation. A school with a history of many top commits vs a school with fewer. It is not about the academics being too hard for the majority of potential applicants, that is just an excuse the STA community likes to tell itself to feel better. Get off your high horse, it may just be your Trojan horse.

nailed it!

Ummmm, both Landon and Bullis posted on their social media as well.

St Albans charging $50 for a prospect camp is rather petty and very un-like them.

Landon and Bullis are having Clinics which is permitted, Prospect Days are a recruiting event and are NOT permitted.

The Head lacrosse coach at STA also runs the next level club program.

This is what happens when you have a "club guy" run a HS program - you get greedy.

He owns part of a club? I thought STA required coaches to be employees like Landon and others in the IAC?

Don't kid yourself...STA has been recruiting (my son), they just aren't any good at it. No support from leadership, coaching circus over the last few years and zero ability to show how the school would actually help in the recruiting process. Yes, the club did a lot, but so did the HS coach for my son. Oh...and the out of IAC schedule stinks every year. Do you see who Landon, Bullis and Prep play every year out of conference?

Can someone clarify, so STA is holding a prospect day for middle school potential players/applicants and charging them $50 to attend?
Anonymous
it already took place last weekend.

And they are charging prospective students to attend.
Anonymous
Yes.

Wow. That’s a real change of course for STA.

its rather embarrassing for the administration to allow this to happen.

I agree. I can’t believe they gave the green light for this event.
