Thanks. I needed that laugh.

Sounds like about half of Prep’s varsity team is committed to playing in college. How are the other IAC teams faring with college commits?

I don't think Prep is close to STA in academic rigor. And EHS is not in that discussion. You have STA on one level, Prep and Landon on the next, EHS and SSSA, then Bullis. For lax, just switch STA and Bullis.

Prep is actually quite similar to STA academically and certainly far more similar than many STA parents would like to admit. I know someone who has had boys (excellent students) in both schools and this has been their experience.

Prep is nothing like STA except that it is an all boys school with a coat and tie. Aside from that they are very different.

Yes, Prep is actually better. Boys enjoy school more at Prep, they are sufficiently challenged and find college easy without being totally stressed out in the STA pressure cooker environment. Prep students also have far better athletics so they get to enjoy winning more which fosters greater school spirit. Just saying, I know lots of unhappy or less than satisfied STA boys and lots of very happy Prep boys.

What’s going on with the shake up in coaching at STA?

Looks like Colin Heeter worked his was from Next Level into the head coaching job. Anyone could see that coming.

Cheet is cheddah. Like the dude's vibe, he lives for lax, and laxes to live. Living my dream.

Good luck in the IAC, dude.

Yet why does STA have its own lax thread, and why does this school always come up in the IAC thread? Although STA is traditionally not a lax powerhouse, the fact is that not all lax stars could get accepted into STA even if they wanted to-- and that seems to irk some non-STA parents to the point that they need to continue putting down the STA program. The "we've got grit for losing so much" and "you will work for us someday" posters are just trolls trying to keep this conversation going. I don't think anyone remotely thinks that way when they decide to send their lax player to STA.

Don't get ahead of yourself. The STA lax thread is only two weeks old and only two pages long (nothing to brag about). Not to mention, the reason it was started was out of curiosity for the future of the program because it does not have a good track record. And finally, the reason STA is mentioned occasionally in the IAC thread is because it competes in the IAC so it has to be part of the discussion.
