As in size of roster? Or are you a coach? Or a parent who takes stats and tracking youth players a tad too seriously? All they have to do is the opposite of what Spirit did. Hard not to improve from there. |
So they need to be well run, well coached, and win a ton of games. That is easier said than done. So what's the plan? |
Trim the rosters so players that weren't ready are no longer being fielded, and return to at age rosters instead of playing players up as a matter of club practice. That's easy and will produce immediate results. Players from other clubs like FCV and BRYC who are on teams of 20+ might find a roster of 15-16 refreshing. |
|
Serious question: if your daughter is good enough to survive the trimmed down rosters, then why stay with a club that is going through so many struggles and has so much uncertainty. Why not go to one of the other DA or ECNL teams where she could start, win some games, and be with a more stable club with better college connections than a start-up like Spirit and now MU?
I understood people wanting to get in early, and sticking it out, with a NWSL-affiliated club, but I don't understand the loyalty to the process now that the teams are no longer affiliated with a pro club. |
I was only referring to VA |
I’ll go one further. Why does a kid stay on a team when they only play 10-20 minutes and their club is moving to Springfield? |
Speaking for myself: we were done with it. This was going to be our last year. NOW, with the new direction it is going in, this is what we wanted all along. And we have the core group to get it done. |
| Same question for a girl who plays most of the game for xFCV. Girl like that could start anywhere. |
The timing was such that none of the girls could go anywhere else. At least for 2019/20 |
Unless you are one of those parents who paid in full (which I know of parents who did), I'd go to the club and ask to be released to play elsewhere. |
Name a DA in the DMV that isn’t uncertain. One was purchased without any idea given to the people who paid deposits, who knows what’s going on at Arlington. The Baltimore side was left behind by Spirit as well. Beside that some kids don’t want to be joystick coached by the all powerful Bob, oh and more than a few kids also prefer not to play long ball like Arlington. |
| there isnt a whole lot of leftover DA caliber talent in the area around st james. Someone didnt do any market research |
No chance. They have the best coaches in nova! |
Or they have coaches that are pragmatic enough and resourceful enough to get the job done. |
