They have and do. It has been openly admitted by players and their families.

Lol, that's rich. FCV recruiting from MU.

Right, Because the only great players in the DMV are FCV players? Laughable. You have a handful of strong players that make the handful of other players look like super stars. FCV just has more of that handful. It is well known FCV goes out and tries to recruit the better 1-3 players on other teams, then those players go because they want a chance at winning. All the clubs do it and FCV is one of the worst. Piece of advice, try not to sound like such a douche bag, FCV is not the only club with talent and most of those teams had been assembled by recruiting one or two players from each team at younger ages now creating the team you see today. Good luck with all that hypocrisy and just remember your DD would never look as good as she does without those handfuls around her that were recruited from other teams that developed her at the younger age groups.

Why is FCV always the bad guy? Someone here keeps redirecting the discussion from one coach to FCV. The problem is not the clubs its the coaches. One bad apple seems to be making their organization look bad. FCV has done nothing more than be a good club. BRYC needs to rebuild from what damage that has been done and rise above. Good luck to everyone and may God have mercy on those souls who need it.

It isn't necessarily making FCV out to be the bad guy but the notion that FCV or any club is squeaky clean is silly. In a previous post someone claimed that FCVs reputation is all the recruitment they need and that FCV doesn't actively recruit players from other clubs outside of the rules.

Yes they do. Should the rules really be in place on kids who pay for the service? No, but they are rules that FCV ALONG with many other clubs are willing to break. If you are a bubble starter at FCV or any club or a back end player they will seek to replace you if they can. This is why the narrative on Mikey moving to VDA has turned negative. BRYC will be losing quality players and VDA players will lose their spots this spring. That makes people unhappy. But it is a practice that many clubs do, FCV being a prime example but not hte only example.

This will only be happening in the 02/03 team. VDA is better 08-04. I do not think it’s that big of a deal for vda families.

Keep thinking that. Even with VDA's nationally ranked 06 team I guarantee the top players at BRYC are better than the girls coming off the bench for VDA. There will be a shakeup at all the ages

They aren’t and what makes you think everyone is following the new vda Director? Maybe his favorites go but most Bryc players will be happy with the change.

Except those that are going to FCV.

Good, more competitive teams across the board, not as much water down competition.

Not true. If Mikey can convince talented BRYC 08's-06's to join what would be already loaded VDA teams that is a pretty easy sell. It is easier to recruit to already talented teams. I'd bet he would have more success bringing over younger kids than 03s for that reason. If the BRYC 03's blow up their best players will seek out the best possible team in that age group which is not VDA. The reason for BRYC players to follow Mikey would be playing time and a proven role but not the necessarily because of the quality of the 03 VDA team.

It is very troubling that people post on this forum to put fear and panic into parents at a club. This is kids soccer, wtf is wrong with some people.

It is competitive soccer. Positions are earned. Kids need to learn to train and work to keep their spot on these teams. All travel soccer is no more than a year commitment. At any point a better player can come along and edge you out of a starting role or off the team.

If players choose to follow their coach to a new club and they are as good or better than the current roster some kids will move on. It isn't fear, it happens every year but in the case when a coach changes clubs it is a little more dramatic because players will tend to follow coaches they like and the new coach has no loyalty to players already on the team.

VDA parents were excited at first because they thought they were only getting a new coach. Well, a new coach and a few of his old players is more accurate. That tends to cause a squeeze that is unpleasant.

Totally agree, we live in a society that things should always be fair. It's not and your child needs to work for that spot, I know that seems harsh but the reality is that elite means elite and if your DD doesn't make the cut teach her to get up and fight for the next opportunity.

VDA parents were told there will be no change in roster for the rising 02/03 team. Bronson was told he would have the 02/03 team. Now parents and coaches are being told differently. How is VDA’s Director going to uphold those promises to BRYC recruits, when VDA Executive Director needs to keep his promise to existing families. The club is as good as the promises that are kept not made. It’s a bit crazy. What are we talking about a handful of players coming over.? I get wanting to the best ECNL club, but at what price?

No change in roster? LOL. Rosters are only good for one year. I'm willing to bet that what was said is "for the spring season there will be no roster changes", what you heard was "there will be no roster changes.

Rosters change every season as a natural course.

Both are a loss. Tim was a loss too. Hopefully new director brings friends with him.
