It is competitive soccer. Positions are earned. Kids need to learn to train and work to keep their spot on these teams. All travel soccer is no more than a year commitment. At any point a better player can come along and edge you out of a starting role or off the team.

If players choose to follow their coach to a new club and they are as good or better than the current roster some kids will move on. It isn't fear, it happens every year but in the case when a coach changes clubs it is a little more dramatic because players will tend to follow coaches they like and the new coach has no loyalty to players already on the team.

VDA parents were excited at first because they thought they were only getting a new coach. Well, a new coach and a few of his old players is more accurate. That tends to cause a squeeze that is unpleasant. [/quote]

VDA parents were told there will be no change in roster for the rising 02/03 team.  Bronson was told he would have the 02/03 team. Now parents and coaches are being told differently.  How is VDA’s Director going to uphold those promises to BRYC recruits, when VDA Executive Director needs to keep his promise to existing families.  The club is as good as the promises that are kept not made. It’s a bit crazy.  What are we talking about a handful of players coming over.?  I get wanting to the best ECNL club, but at what price?
